About Me

Daniel's Pointe Shoe Glue is now in Australia!!! For all of you down under, you can now purchase Pointe Shoe Glue at DancersWorld!!! Visit www.DancersWorld.com
Here's the big news. I held off telling you guys about it for various reasons, but here it goes.
Discount Dance Supply will begin carrying Pointe Shoe Glue exclusively in their March catalog. Since most of you are dancers, I'm sure you already know of them and get their catalog. If not, sign up. It is the best catalog for ballet.
This is big news for Pointe Shoe Glue. Word has spread pretty fast since I started this but that is nothing compared to what may happen. There are still countless dancers and companies who have never heard of Pointe Shoe Glue. This could all change in less than 7 days.
It is difficult to explain how I feel about things. I am absolutely excited and confident, but I will admit there is uncertainty as I don't know what kind of response or outcome to expect. Oddly, this uncertainty contributes to my excitement. Literally hundreds of thousands of ballet dancers across the country will instantly be exposed to Pointe Shoe Glue. I can't predict the outcome but I know my product works better than anything on the market and will definitely save people money by extending the life of their pointe shoes.
I think great things are going to happen for Pointe Shoe Glue. I'll find out more over the next month or so and give you an update after the catalog comes out.
MERDE! MERDE! MERDE! - Daniel
-------
Here's the story.
I began dating a great girl who happens to be a professional ballerina some time ago (still am). She has been dancing for over 10 years, owns her own studio, teaches around the country, choreographs ballets that win national competitions, cooks some tasty food, likes good music, and has a great dog.
Soon after we began dating, I began learning about ballet. Prior to this my entire ballet knowledge was limited to seeing the Nutcracker in grade school. Beyond that, I knew nothing.
I learned about pointe shoes. I learned that men did not dance on them (except the boys at Trockadero and Grandivas). I also learned that pointe shoes are expensive and do not last that long. My girlfriend would go through a pair every day or two. I also learned that ballerinas are a pretty resourceful bunch. Somewhere some ballerina figured out that you could re-harden the toe box and fix the shanks of a dead pointe shoe with various types of glue. This would extend the life of the shoe and save a lot of money. Some definitely worked better than others, but it started to catch on. Word spreads very quickly in ballet (not to mention gossip) and most dancers began carrying glue in their bags.
Turned out this wasn't some isolate thing. Every professional dancer, choreographer, artistic directors, etc that I met either did the same or advised their dancers to do so. It was practically a "must have" for anyone who did pointe work. It was confirmed: Ballerinas must have their own glue specifically designed to fix pointe shoes!
I heard about all of the different products that dancers have tried. Those adhesives weren't designed for pointe shoes, they were designed for metals and plastics. Also I found it rather absurd that ballerinas had to go to hardware stores for their dance supplies. I knew something better could be done.
For those who don't personally know me (or we haven't spoken via email), I am somewhat technical by nature (studied engineering, work with computers, design Smarthomes, etc). I decided to do some research. I studied how pointe shoes are made then spoke with chemists and people in the adhesives industry to see what would work best. We came up with a formulation tailored to the materials used in pointe shoes. I then tested it out on real (dead) pointe shoes with real ballet dancers and it worked. Long story short, Daniel's Pointe Shoe Glue was born.

If you don't have any of the above and want to contact me, feel free to do so. I like to keep things informal and enjoy hearing from people, so don't be shy. Thanks for reading
