The band was formed towards the end of the year 2000 by Patrick St-Yves ( Guitarist / Singer ) in the town of Drummondville ( close to Montrea l). After several changes of Drummer and bass players, LYING TRUTH solidified his formation with the arrival of Eric Lauzon to the Drums. Little time after, the band found their bass player.
Not long after its formation, LYING TRUTH produced a demo recorded at the open air show in Melbourne. This demo named LIVE INSANITY contained 8 songs of thrash furious metal recorded live at the show. LIVE INSANITY was produced by Franois Beaulieu of PSI Records. Quickly, the group attracted a lot of attention and good criticisms. Musically, the group is oriented toward catchy thrash rhythm with a touch of "Speed Metal".
They opened for several shows for groups such as Les Cultivateurs Contestataires, Martyr, Sweet Distortion, Subversion, Embm and Fist of Fury. LYING TRUTH acquired much experiences from those shows and became very respected on the Drummondville underground scene. It was time for the group to be heard across the province of Quebec. But In October 2002, Robert and Pascal left the group for musical and professional differences. After a short period of reflection, Patrick and Eric decided that all of this would not bring them down and that nothing could stop LYING TRUTH from being born again.
It took very little time afterwards for everything to be put back together, in November 2002, Franois Landry arrived in the group as the new bass player which caused a great positive impact on the group. Then only 2 months after, Franois Beaulieu ( PSI Records, ex Embm ) a talented and enthusiastic guitarist, arrived as the new member within the formation. With all of this new blood running through the veins of LYING TRUTH there music became even more Speed Metal with a touch of Death Metal. Nothing could stop them now.
In May 2004, they organized in collaboration with the group Last Breath, a mini-tour to promote the thrash metal in Quebec named THRASH ASSAULT TOUR. The tour visited several cities of Quebec. Lying Truth had now acquired a solid experience of the scene.
After some dates into the tour, Franois Landry had to leave the group for personal reasons. He left in a friendly way since this was not for professional reasons nor musical. Then came Pierre Lampron ( ex Subversion ) who took the place has the new bass player in June 2004 . Pierre had already a lot of experience of the scene and of recording in studio, which brought experiences and positive asset the group.
After the tour which will end at the beginning of november 2004, all of the guys of LYING TRUTH will take a small well deserved break from the scene to concentrate on new compositions in order to be able as fast as possible to record its first album which should be released at the beginning of 2005. LYING TRUTH will go on making the loudest most possible noise, and to promote metal and itself to the maximum. All of this professionally and seriously! To all the METAL groups of Quebec: REMAIN FOREVER METAL!!
