Race Rebels!

We don't die...we multiply!

About Me

Race Rebels is a Social Movement, a chance for people of color to unite and show solidarity in the struggle...for social justice, equality, democracy, and much more. Please become a friend of Race Rebels if you wish to show that you are down with the struggle; with the movement. Not only will this medium through Myspace be used for us to network, but it will also be used to show that there is power in our numbers! RR will also try to keep updated information posted, and post relevant news articles on the bulletin. Just some of the things Race Rebels stand for: 1. Ending racial profiling by the police and other agencies. 2. We are against the discrimination of people based on their sexual orientation. 3. The eradication of three strikes laws, and mandatory minimum sentences. 4. The ending of aggressive military recruitment of poor youth of color specifically, and militarization in general. 5. Fighting the stereotypical images of underrepresented peoples in the media. 6. Advocating for increased funding in lower and higher education, and increased funding for schools in lower-economic urban areas especially. 7. Release of all political prisoners. 8. Against NAFTA (the north american free trade agreement) and the newly approved CAFTA. 9. We are against the privatization of prisons and immigration camps. 10. Free Puerto Rico! What can a Race Rebel do? So many things! Race Rebels have an undying spirit, composed of those of our ancestors that only gets stronger with each generation. We naturally have warm, open hearts due to our love for the people, and our souls have a strong commitment to the people. Nuffsaid. As citizens of the earth, we have unfortunately become slaves to capitalism. But even those of us who work 40 hours a week can make a difference and have an impact in the struggle. Just some ways to get involved and make a difference: 1. Write your senators, congresswomen, and local officials to voice your concerns about your community. 2. Educate yourself. At whatever age, in school or out, it is imperative that we do not depend on someone else to give us the knowledge we need not only to survive, but to be creative and independent. 3. Know your community, Give back to your community. The fight would be so much easier if we had solidarity within our own communities, which could allow the alliance of communities, towns, cities, and even states. But you have to start right there on yo' block. Ya dig! 4. Stay up with current events, and spread the word. I know there is a lot of nonsense in the media. No doubt. But there are some links posted, so check them out. We need to start engaging our friends and family in social/political/etc dialogue if not already. 5. Show up at rallies, protests, demonstrations when you can. 6. Don't give up! I know sometimes in tha hood its hard, too much bad stuff going on, and niggaz acting ignorant and it all seems hopeless. But we got to keep it movin. Race Rebels don't die...we multiply!..
