About Me

Jay V started playing guitar and writing songs at age 14. At 16 he started his first high school band with fellow high schoolers George I. and Matt V. to form the band DaySea Chain. With $3000 of borrowed money Jay V managed to scrape up enough money to release a full length 9 song album on cassette once again under the name DaySea Chain. The album had been recorded locally in the small town of Midland Ontario, before being taken down to 'The Power Plant" recording stuidio in Barrie, Ont for a professional remastering. Five hundred tapes were then printed and packaged in the first and only run of the album, manufactured at a facility in Toronto. After high school had ended the group parted ways and Jay V began more actively pursuing a solo artist's career. In 2007 Jay V teamed up with a group of other talented local musicians to begin working on a new indy album. Now entering this new stable of musicians is Darryl Grenier, a very talented drummer with 15 years of experience playing percussion in numerous bands. Also Chris B has climbed aboard to take on task of bassist. Chris and Darryl know each other well as they have performed together previously in other bands and as such they bring together a familiarity and comfort level that continues to help bring the cohesiveness of the group to higher levels.Add to that mix the deep and rich vocal talents of Christine Fournier, a long time friend of Jay V who has already made herself known in many local circles as an excellent vocalist with a broad range to draw from.Jay V will be making his radio debut in March of 2008 when "Waiting" airs on "The Rock Show" (Mondays, from 3 to 5pm on CKMS 100.3 FM in Waterloo), followed by several more radio stations shortly after.
