Hello Defective...the incredible writing duo of Armitage and Kirby was
brought together twelve years ago by a small world, a twist of fate, and a tee-shirt.
England 1994...Armitage(short film director) was accepting an award at a London film festival, and Kirby(third generation super genius) was sent by MENSA to compete in a math and engineering competition that just happened to be in the same building. While crossing paths in the corridor, Kirby noticed someone wearing a bootleg Mercury Rev tee-shirt...one that Kirby himself had printed months earlier to sell at some local record shops. When he inquired about the shirt, Armitage told him where he bought it, and they soon found out that they had at least two things in common...a love for great music and they only lived forty miles apart. Well, after getting home, exchanging phone numbers and four-track tapes...that was enough. Within weeks they were engineering colorful mind-altering live shows, and recording albums on a shoe string that were getting rave reviews from well known producers and critics. Since then, they have toured all over the world and have sold thousands of records on their own label. Turning down several offers from other record companies, they are now getting the respect that they deserve.
