Put on your boots and grab your hat, it’s time to party! The Crawdads can kick any crowd into party-mode with their good time, pumped up repertoire. The Smokin’ Crawdads have a bulked-up full-tilt, high-octane and revved up honky tonk country sound.

Currently in the studio recording their new single, “Barefoot and Ready” The Smokin’ Crawdads are an exciting and rocking band, that exudes energy. From Gutbucket Blues thru to Memphis-soaked swamp Rock, when you can catch a Crawdad gig be prepared for a night of crazy capers. These Crawdudes are known for their professional attitude and excellent showmanship. Catch ‘em live!!!

The only member of the original Crawdad line up, Mick’s career has spanned more than two decades. Mick’s past band efforts include mid 80’s Pop/Rock act Idol Minds, The Country Boys & The Blue Heeler Band, as well as years of supporting/backing international stars including Nick Lowe, Joe Walsh (from the Eagles) Johnny Tillotson & local heroes such as Col Elliot, Adam Harvey, Tania Kernaghan, & Slim Dusty etc.

Andy Tainsh(Bass & Vocals)

Originally from Melbourne, Andy worked with many bands in the 70’s such as the Avengers, Captain Matchbox & The Dingoes. He moved to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in the early 80’s to work with Barry Charles in the now legendry band Barry & the Rockets. Andy has been involved in writing and recording numerous jingles & film scores for many hi profile clients over the years. He has also played with many Brisbane acts including Blues Appetite in 1994 and most recently with Fiddle Me Please, touring extensively overseas, particularly throughout Europe.

Randal Terrens (Keyboards, Guitar & Vocals)

Originally from Qld, Randal spent 20 years in the Melbourne scene as a keyboard player, soloist, session musician and multi-instrumental utility player, working alongside such talents as Mick Pealing, Garry Caruthers, Chris Stockley, Terry Dean and Gary Young. A founding member of the hugely successful John Mellencamp tribute band “Scarecrow”, he has also had the pleasure to back the likes of Eric Burdon, Cameron Daddo, Travis Collins, Jonah's Road, Cat Southern and Billy Miller. Now based back in Brisbane, Randal adds a little extra spice to the Crawdad hotpot.

Kirk Lorange(Guitar)

Kirk Lorange, one of our true Australian guitar legends has recorded & played with the best including…Doug Ashdown, Richard Clapton, Marc Hunter, Kevin Johnson, Glenn Shorrock & Brian Cadd just to name a few. He has opened for such greats as Supertramp, Little River Band, John Mayall, The Band, The Highwaymen, Marcia Hines & Leo Kottke including TV appearances with Ringo Starr. He has Recorded his own CD “No Apostrophe” featuring Wendy Matthews on backing vocals. His bands have included Sleeping Dogs with Doug Ashdown, Chasin the Train with oz legends Kevin Bennett, Marc Meyer and Ian Lees, Richard Clapton Band, the Six Amigos with more oz legends Kevin Bennett, James Cox, Doug Bligh, James Gillard & Marc Collins, Marc Hunter Band & Blazing Salads with Glenn Shorrock & Brian Cadd not to mention countless movie & advertising scores. Kirk Lorange is a world class performer & a perfect compliment to the Smokin’ Crawdads…

Doug Gallacher ( Drums and Percussion)

Doug Gallacher was born and bred in Dubbo, NSW and took to playing drums at age 16. The Dubbo Pipe Band is where this extraordinary musician’s career began. Doug moved to Sydney in his early twenty’s to pursue his passion for percussion, he joined various cover bands and soon found himself a highly sought after session musician. To date Doug has worked on over 300 albums and associated projects including countless commercials, movie soundtracks and TV themes.

His dedication and immense talent caught the attention of Geoff Harvey who instantly placed Doug behind the drum kit on Channel 9’s Midday Show with Mike Walsh. Doug remained with the Geoff Harvey Band for over twenty years. In that time he also performed in The Carols in the Domain (15years), NSW School Spectacular (22years), the Golden Guitar Awards, the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games, the Opening of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre & Bi-Centennial concert. Doug has been involved with many Theatre Productions including Hello Dolly, Menopause The Musical, Respect The Musical, Aladdin, Cinderella & They’re Playing Our Song.

During this time Doug also travelled extensively throughout Australia and overseas with various touring acts. Doug has shared the stage with all the greats; the list of who he hasn’t worked with would be shorter. He has played with a cross section of artists including Adam Harvey, Adam Brand, Albert Lee / Vince Gill, Alan Caswell, B. B. King, Crossfire, David Helfgott, Drifters, Don Burrows, Don Spencer (Play School ), Dusty Springfield, Felicity Urquhart, Feral Swing Katz, The Four Tops, Graeme Connors, Garth Brooks, Gene Pitney, Glen Frey (The Eagles ), Gina Jefferies, James Blundell, James Morrison, John Denver, John Farnham, John Williamson, Judith Durham and The Seekers, Julie Anthony, Michael Crawford, Neil Sedaka, Olivia Newton John, Peter Allen ( 15 years ), Peggy Lee, Randy Brecker, Randy Crawford, Reg Lindsay, Ricky May, Rick Price, Rhonda Birchmore, Shirley McLaine, Cliff Richard, Slim Dusty ( 20 Albums ), The Supremes, The Temptations, Tom Jones, The Wiggles, Tiny Tim, Trisha Yearwood, Tommy Emmanuel, The Monkees, The Wiggles & Troy Cassar Daley.

Doug has recently become involved with the CMAA College of Country Music and the Junior Camerata College of Country Music where he is an invaluable tutor and shares his vast array of experience with emerging country music artists.

Doug moved from Sydney to Brisbane in January 2006 to enjoy a quieter life however this was short lived as he was quickly recognized by Mick Martin and now regularly gigs with The Smokin’ Crawdads in and around South East & Central Queensland.

Doug Gallacher has had a long term relationship as an endorsee of “Billy Hyde Drumcraft” endorsing the products for Pearl Drums, Zildian cymbals and Remo drumskins.
