Welcome to my myspace page which i use to promote my video projects. thanks for checking it out, and feel free to ask about rates for videography. im available in the SF north bay area. i specialize in multicam live concert shoots and professional multicam editing...
i grew up listening to rock and roll on the fm radio as a kid during the seventies, stuff like jimi hendrix, the rolling stones, janis joplin, the beatles, grateful dead, deep purple, black sabbath, cheap trick, the scorpions, ufo and alot of other great rock bands, and i evolved into a metalhead as i grew up! lol! so i love metal, but i like alot of different kinds of music besides metal and punk, actually. rockabilly, surf, classical, jazz, blues, soul, motown, rythm and blues, alternative rock, country and western and instrumental to name a few. and i really enjoy seeing my favorite bands play live, thats the best..
when i was thirteen i started listening to devo, blondie, the talking heads, the ramones. stuff like that, and then when i was about sixteen, i started getting into the real heavy stuff like early eighties american hardcore punk like suicidal tendencies, black flag and the dead kennedys, the misfits, minor threat, circle jerks, doa, waysted youth..
around the same time i was also listening to alot of heavy metal, like judas priest, ozzy ozbourne and iron maiden, and black sabbath.. then, around the end of '84 a friend handed me a cassette tape of metallicas kil em all and slayers show no mercy.
In '85, i picked up bonded by blood and megadeth based on the covers alone when i went to the record store as a teen to buy slayer's show no mercy. i remember really enjoying the speed and heaviness of the new wave of american thrash and speed metal.. bands like metallica, slayer, exodus (RIP Baloff),vio-lence, death angel, possessed, megadeth, nuclear assault, venom, SOD, and tons of others.
in the early nineties i started getting into bands like cannibal corpse, autopsy, morbid angel, obituary, malevolent creation, suffocation and deicide among others. and of course, death, (RIP Chuck). and i became a serious fan of florida death metal..
i also dig carcass and napalm death alot. nile, impaled, exhumed, deeds of flesh, spawn of possession, paths of possession, krisiun, macabre, abscess..
i first witnessed cannibal corpse perform live back in '91-'92, ive also been shooting video for cannibal corpse since '93, and some of my footage was featured on the first home video release, "monolith of death tour '96/'97".. sometime in the future, i would like to shoot a documentary about the band and shop it around to the film festivals.. my newest SICK VIDEO creation for cannibal corpse is the "VILE LIVE" DVD... released in march 2007, directed and edited by myself, with graphics and dvd authoring by Scott Stanton. vile live is the second disc in a two disc set of the Metal Blade 25th anniversary edtition of the vile album. check my blog for all the details about this release. you can alo check my posts at www.tombofthemutilated.net
ive been shooting video since '89, i started out shooting my friends bands, and local acts, and turned pro a few years ago when i collaborated with my friend, scott stanton, who runs his own music video production company called sick video. previously scott had done the "sick" line of bmx videos under the ss video logo. we did a live dvd for the dave brockie experience, or DBX, called "hanging out at the pound" featuring dave, brad and mike, core members of gwar. we also did two promo videos for GWAR, "BRING BACK THE BOMB" and "WOMB WITH A VIEW", which appear on the WAR PARTY and LIVE FROM MT FUJI cd's. and have been featured on vh1, and mtv and comcast. i own over sixty different bootleg videos of gwar. these guys are crazy!!
another more recent project i was involved with is a band called blue hail. i did the photography, layout and design on the bands first self titled cd. i also taped numerous sessions at trident studios where the band recorded the cd, and many live shows the band has played around the bay area. blue hail was recently featured on 107.7 the bone radio station. This band has changed its lineup within the last year. they let Billy and Gil go and now have Lucas on bass and Hal on vocals. some tracks had new vocals laid over them in the studio for the myspace player. the first three shows with the new lineup were recorded and new pictures taken as well.. the new videos and pictures are up and my newest creation is the wild child video. VVV
BLUE HAIL - WILD CHILD
another band ive become involved with recently is skitzo. i shot over twenty five live shows around the bay area with these guys during 2004/2005 and shot over fifteen hours of footage of the band recording the album "FIVE POINT CONTAINMENT" at grizzly studios..
My latest creation, the new skitzo video, "curse of the pheonix" is here!!!
SKITZO-CURSE OF THE PHEONIX
another project that was started and has yet to be finished is the new beverly beer bellys dvd im working on. most of the content has already been edited, and there will be lots of awesome backstage antics from the hard drinkin, hard rockin beverly beer bellys. plus killer live footage including an awesome set from the portlight in oakland ca. in 2004. ive also taped several shows since then, and will be editing them sometime in the near future.
i recently edited a live video for the band abscess. from one of the recent pound sf shows, and it may appear sometime in the future. there is also a new autopsy dvd in the works over at peaceville records to which scott stanton, contributed the san francisco '94 footage. this is out now.
in my spare time i post messages at www.tombofthemutilated.net the un-official cannibal corpse forums
some more of my footage and some old archival stuff was featured on the new gwar dvd, "BLOOD BATH AND BEYOND"
My most recent project was the Cannibal Corpse DVD "centuries of torment" Directed by Denise Korycki. I contributed a bunch of footage, and alot of it was used, mostly in small split second clips, but two full songs from the Day of Death concert in New York was used in its entirety. "Shredded Humans" and "Rotting Head" from the first album.
here's a video i made recently for the band embryonic devourment. this was shot at the tidal wave festival #11 on july 6th in san francisco ca.
