About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
About Peg Thompson
I am not one of those people who stood on the table and sang at the age of 5 nor did I write my first song at 10. I wrote my first song December of last year (2006). And, even though I have sung in choirs since high school, I have never sung much as a soloist.
I am a classically trained musician with a degree in organ performance and a master's degree in music composition. I have spent my life as a church musician. Last year I decided to try songwriting. It has been the most wonderful adventure of my life.
After deciding to become a singer/songwriter this past year, I have attended three NSAI songcamps in Nashville, the NSAI Symposium in March, and in June I attended the Blue Ridge Song Camp in Virginia. At the end of May, I began studying voice with Ron Browning in Nashville. He teaches privately and with the Nashville Jazz Workshop. These experiences have not only shaped my songwriting, but have completely changed my life.
I am a BMI affiliated songwriter and an NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) member. Currently I am working on my first CD of original songs and instrumental music.
If you wish to read more about my decision to pursue my life's passion (composing music), read my BLOG.
