History:
In Spring 2007 the underground Death Metal band Abyss Lord from Hannover, Germany finally broke up after the members Christopher Meyer and Emilio Lozano had left the band for other bandprojects. A few weeks of silence passed and the remaining members (Sebastian Teichert, Arnd Murschall and Jens Dumann, who were part of Abyss Lord since the beginning) decided to keep the band going on stronger than before and to change the bandname. At last
DAY OF THE TENTACLE
was born!!!
In Summer 2007 Michael Hinze joined the band to strengthen the guitar power of Day Of The Tentacle. In March 2008 Sebastian Teichert left the band, but David Hartmann joined DOTT as new bassplayer and in Summer 2008 Matthias Wiele (who was into Abyss Lord too) re-joined the band on the mic. Since then the band is working on their first self-produced record. Watch out for these guys on your local Metal Events.
About The Music:
Abyss Lord was in fact more the old fashioned style of Death fuckin Metal like Bolt Thrower, Gorefest or Pestilence. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower, always close to thrashing riffs and beats and with a kindly sense of melodies in the songwriting.
The Birth of Day Of The Tentacle had an influence on songwriting, too. The new songs are much harder, more aggressive and faster than ever. This mixture of smashing Grindcore, sickening Blast attacks and even catchy Death Metal is the main ingredient for Day Of The Tentacle’s brutality in the vein of Napalm Death, Vomitory or Vader. But there is much more to find like modern sounding rhythms or groovy parts which Bands like Misery Index are celebrating too. This mixture of different influences and styles is a very listenable Extreme Metal experience that enters the head like a bullet and crushes through your brain.
