Jesus died to save EVERYTHING !!!!!Everyone knows John 3:16 but then there's John 3:17 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. You've probably heard these things all your life and never really examined them so check this out. Saved means a few things, delivered or protected, healed, preserved, (do well, be whole). The word "world" in the Greek Language is the word Kosmos (cosmos) which among other things meant orderly arrangement (ie: decoration or ornamentation), or the world and it's inhabitants (literally, figuratively or morally). It also means any sphere of human activity (the world of arts and entertainment, the world of sports). And one more definition, secular or social life and interests, as distinguished from spiritual. In Genesis 2:15 after God created man He placed him in the Garden Of Eden to dress (till or cultivate) it and keep it. God is orderly. He created the Heavens and the Earth and then it says in Gen 2:6-8 that He caused a mist to rise and water the the face of the Earth which caused folliage to grow, He then formed man, planted a garden in Eden, then placed Adam there. One reason man was placed upon the earth was to organize and bring out beauty from the earth.
The positive things man brings to the Earth through invention or the reorganizing of God's raw materials brings beauty and order to the Earth or "Our World". Not only the physical structures but also the social and cultural structures. God created us to be an adorning to the Earth.
Now, the statement in John 3:17 "that the world (and it's inhabitants or it's orderly arrangement) through Him might be saved", should have an enhanced meaning to you now. It would be correct to say Jesus died to save "everything". Now the question is save it from or for what? Earth and mankind is God's creation and has an enemy. The same mankind which God created to adorn and bring beauty and order to our world is the same mankind that Satan uses to destroy the life of our world(s) and it's orderly arrangement. In essence Jesus died to save the world and us from death. In the Bible where the life and teachings of Jesus are revealed death means eternal separation from God. In Luke 12:5 Jesus said "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has the power to cast into Hell; yes I say to you fear Him"! Jesus died and resurected so we could have life with Him in eternity. Receive Him as Lord and Savior and His teachings and allow Him to reconstitute and save your life and your world.

You should know that Christ has already "delivered us from the power of darkness (be it wicked and unreasonable people [2 Thess. 3:2] or substance abuse issues) and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear son (Col. 1:13). We just have to act like we are delivered.
