Some began in the Summer of 1995 in Denver, Colorado. Dennis Grosvenor had recently disbanded the widely popular Colorado band Orphan Tears after the release of its only album, "Novacaine Kiss" (With Craig Maierhofer, Phil Robinson, Jeff Feld, Robert Pearson and a couple stunning guitar solos by the great Nels Cline of WILCO, the Geraldine Fibbers and the Nels Cline Singers). Upon the urging of gifted Denver producer, engineer and musician Mark Fuller (Bigfoot Torso, Jill Sobule, Thinking Plague, Crankcall Love Affair), Grosvenor called Eric Ryan (Body of Souls, Tribe After Tribe, One Drop, Paul Newsome) to play guitar. Kenny James was the first drummer but was soon succeeded by Stu Grant (Body of Souls). The next member to join Some was Katy Cox on violin (Shotgun Party, the Daughters of the Confederacy, Uncle Fucker). This lineup wrote material, rehearsed and became good friends through the cold Winter months of 1995, focusing on crafting what would become it's signature sound. Eric Ryan, upon receiving a job offer from Ravenswork Studios in Venice, California, announced his upcoming departure. While Katy Cox stayed in Denver to finish school, Stuart Grant and eventually Dennis Grosvenor relocated to Venice, CA. Grant, Grosvenor and Ryan settled in to the studios of Ravenswork and immediately began recording what would be their only collection of songs, the Some sessions. By a stroke of sheer luck, Ryan's duplex neighbor was Robbi Robb of the legendary South African band Tribe After Tribe and Jeff Ament's Pearl Jam offshoot, Three Fish. Robbi soon joined the band on bass and Some now had its much needed low end. Rehearsals and recording sessions were constant for almost three years. Scott Seiver joined the band on drums and the band played only a handful of live shows. Some broke up in the Spring of 1999. This is the first time these songs have been made available.
All songs were written, produced and performed by Stu Grant, Dennis Grosvenor and Eric Ryan. Scott Seiver played drums on "Born Again Fool"
All songs were engineered and mixed by Eric Ryan with additional mixing by Mark Fuller.
