In Defense of Animals-Africa is both a project of In Defense of Animals and a non-profit organization operating in the Republic of Cameroon in direct collaboration with the Cameroon government’s Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife. IDA-Africa wages an extensive public education and sensitization campaign aimed at saving Cameroon's chimpanzees and gorillas from extinction. In addition, IDA-Africa's Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center provides sanctuary in forested habitat for 59 chimpanzees orphaned by the illegal bushmeat trade.Efforts to stop the killing of chimpanzees and gorillas through education, sensitization and increased law enforcement include direct collaboration with other non-profit organizations and with the Cameroon government.Please visit our website for more information: www.ida-africa.org.
