D .Y.M.E., a new talent soon to hit the airwaves, has an interesting story. The self-named moniker stands for Destiny, Youth, Money, and Entertainment, which are the ideals he believes are necessary for success. In 2009, and it is all or nothing for D.Y.M.E. The lifestyle of the streets was all he knew. Choices were made for survival, but through his life experiences and those he encountered, D.Y.M.E has almost seen and done it all. D.Y.M.E. is game to bring it to the frontline with his remarkable flow and breath-taking talent. D.Y.M.E and his journey into music represent a true formula for success not for only his generation but for younger generations to come.
D .Y.M.E. is a product of his West Philly upbringing. One summer day, a friend of his introduced him to the idea of making a song. At that time he had no idea that he was about to embark on a new career path. Using their own pooled funds, the two friends invested in a record player, an 8-track tape mixer, and crates. The setup for their budding enterprise was as meager as a door and a technique microphone hung over water pipes in the basement. Nevertheless, they began writing and composing in earnest though, D.Y.M.E. admits now, he still had no idea what he was doing. After regrouping and examining his musical goals, D.Y.M.E.’s dream truly began. D.Y.M.E. has been destroying obstacles, living every day life, and understanding that with life you will have good times and bad times-- but when all falls down you’ve got to pick yourself up and keep it moving.
H e started first with a four- man group called the West Philly Suspects at the age of 17. With little to no knowledge of the music industry, he knew he had to work harder because the goal of rising above his circumstances was imprinted in his mind. D.Y.M.E. moved back to the Uptown section and was introduced to a group of people who were aspiring artists like him. Being naturally charismatic and talented, it was not long before he was sought after to put together a rap duo with an associate by the name E-sharp. Nkognito was formed. After Six years of pushing for their dream, the two had to go separate ways. He was introduced to many different professionals and can only hope his dream will come alive and success can be declared for this Philadelphia native. He has worked with different types of musicians in hip hop and has taken an interest in any facet pertaining to music. He believes in using an eclectic mix and is heavily influenced by the sounds of Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye—Motown in general. He has a particular interest in jazz music; he has attended concerts of jazz legends to find the origins of the great sounds.
A nd then came Hip-Hop. He also found that he had an interest in and an affinity for studio mixing and production; even today he works closely with countless audio engineers and artists mainly at the Daddy’s House recording studio, owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Using that experience as a learning tool, he funded his own studio workspace and now records at his own leisure while working in a mentoring capacity with other upcoming producers and songwriters.
D .Y.M.E. believes that one genre of music isn’t enough when it has so much to offer. He remains inspired by the many artists who preceded him in the pursuit of a music career.
A true giant at heart D.Y.M.E. is well aware of the hardships that lie before him, so he has a plan for success. His plan thus far has been working towards perfection, staying sucker free and remaining strong in his beliefs. D.Y.M.E, sometimes called Mr. Fantastic, is amazingly fueled with hard-hitting rhymes, a crazy delivery with a wicked mindset for setting fire to tracks. Confidence is what keeps this young black man moving along and staying on top of his game. D.Y.M.E is a true hood architect painting pictures of hard times and real life situations. Today, he works alongside his mentor, Stephen Dent, who is the managing director at Badboy Worldwide. This performer with a strong stage presence and lyrics that not only entertain, but truly resonate is a hard worker before anything and is about his business and ready, able and willing to take on anybody to get that elusive 1 spot. D.Y.M.E made the decision to take it to the top and will not stop until he arrives at his destination. .. ..
