This might sound odd coming from a musician, but I don't listen to a lot of music. I love worship music, but I normally like to skip around until I find the stuff that speaks to me at the moment. I don't have a favorite artist though I do love Israel and New Breed. Songs speak to me more than the artist do.
Classics: Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Forest Gump, Driving Miss Daisy (another one my wife and I enjoy watching together), Passion of the Christ - it's not really a favorite, but hey, I'm a Pastor, it's got to be in my top 10. Let's continue shall we... Dream Girls (I think the movie was all about Jennifer Hudson - though I've not heard her sound as good since).
Just about anything on CNN, Food Network, HGTV, Everybody Loves Raymond, Golden Girls (my wife and I used to watch this show religiously).
I'm ashamed to admit it, but I got way into I Love New York seasons 1 and 2 (He's still working on me). I just think she's funny as I don't know what. I found myself fascinated with one other aspect of the show. Like millions of other viewers, I think Sis. Patterson (as she calls herself) is a MAN!!
The Bible and non-fiction Christian literature. I'm pretty exclusive when it comes to what I read. I think the reason is this, I'm not a big reader, my wife devours books (I think she should have her own book club). I on the other hand... just not a big reader, unless it's bible or church related materials.
While I have high regards for a number of people, I have only one true hero and that's Jesus Christ. Unlike Superman, Batman and Robin, or Underdog (I'm telling my age with that one), He really does save lives. In fact, he saved mine. I exist today because of His presence in my life.
This page exist just to be a godly presence on MySpace. If you've been on Myspace for any length of time then you probably have already received a number of indecent proposals and bogus friend request. We're not that. If you're looking for real relationships that will lead to a change (for the better) in your life, then CityChurch is the place for you. I invite you to join us in celebrating new beginnings in 2008!
Sincerely,
Pastor Kevin
