Hi! My name is Patches, I'm 6 and I'm a purebred Australian Stumpy Tail (Cattle Dog). I love cows!! My mom rescued me from an animal shelter after my owner died (my owner before that killed herself). Mom was only supposed to foster me for a rescue group but...she fell in love! I have that effect on people! Although I loved my last owner, he kept me tied to a tree on a short chain. My mom thinks I was probably abused. I never learned manners or even how to play and fetch. Now I have a yard I can run around in! I'm still learning. I'm not real friendly with bigger dogs (fear aggression? see above 'tied to tree'). I like small dogs and kids though...and I love everyone else! I'm a handful and very neurotic! I have tons of different fears! Mom's helping me with them and some are getting better. I used to hate rain but now I can deal as long as it's nothing more than a sprinkle and t-storms still freak me out! Some people think I look mean and ask mom if I'm nice. And sometimes they go out of their way to stay away from me. She hates that because I'm a sweetheart and so full of love. I like pretty much anyone that looks at me, pets me, gives me food, talks to me, gives me food, pets me...oh, and mom says I have ruined her car with all my dog hairs! You know what I say to that? It's my car now!Since I don't have any cows to herd, I like to herd my mom in the backyard. It's fun making her go where I want and one time I made her fall! BOL! I love long walks, laying on the couch, playing with my squeaky toys, chewing on bones and oh yeah, going to PetSmart! And I love to ride in the car with my head hanging out of the window, wind blowing in my face and my ears flapping! It's fun and people like to look at me and point at the dog with his head out of the window!
