About Me

Erin and Stefanie met at a costume party on a houseboat on the Gulf of Mexico. Erin was dressed as e.e. cummings and Stefanie as William Carlos Williams. Their love for diminutive lettering and an economy of language naturally made them fast friends. In fact, their first conversation consisted of just four words: "Can I sit?" "Yes." They found each other again in Chicago where they wrote several songs of love and abandonment, and then they wrote more. As In Miniature, they endeared themselves to audiences with their smart, sad, and sweet songs. To Erin and Stefanie’s exponentially increasing delight, Philip and Sarah joined the group and it’s been nothing but madness since. In Miniature songs sound like being in the middle of nowhere with friends, feverish dreaming, familiar stories that you can't quite remember, told by people long gone, and the harmonic last breath of two birds killed with one beautiful stone.Truth be told, they are actual size, except when far away.
