About Me

Day's of Leite, is the musical history of Philip Seraphim Leite. Born and raised in Kitimat B.C, Canada. I am currently available for any Rock /metal /progressive, band searching for a singer . I started my Career at age 14, singing for the local high school rock band "WHY-U". We stayed together through those years, and some...doing hall dances, community events' and later (while still under age) we went on to play night clubs in the local area. My first road band was in 1987 with "The LOOK", which then Later, as band members changed, it became "The SECOND LOOK". It was during this marathon year of playing week in and week out, that I gained a whole new perspective for musical longevity, and it was this school of hard knocks that also taught me that I didn't know everything... In the fall of 1988 I went to Red Deer College, in Red Deer Alberta. Where I graduated with a Music Diploma in 1990, and during those years, I played with a college band, "AFTERIMAGE". We went on to play many shows, did some touring, and one of the bands highlight was sharing the stage with "Eddie Money" After college I Moved out to Vancouver B.C, I tried to pursue more education , but only got farther in debt, so out into the real world I went. In 1992 I joined up with local progressive metal band "OSIRIS", releasing 2 well crafted demos, with JEFF WATERS and PAUL BLAKE , (ANNIHILOTOR). Through the years of 1994 and 1997 I joined with "MASTERPIECE" releasing a full length demo, and also playing with "FLY WIDE OPEN" also releasing a demo. In 1997 I joined Canadian prog metal band"EMPYRIA", and released 3 albums (1998,2000,2002) through labels such as "Nightmare Records" (US), "Scrape Records"(Can), and "Sanctuary Music" (Ger), with disribution world wide, to high accolades in many metal magizines like: "BW&BK" (Can),"HeavyOrder" (Ger), "Sea of Tranquility"(US),"Burrn" (Jap), receiving airplay, and radio interveiws world wide, on numerous progressive metal radio, and web shows. I can also be found with Empyria in 2 Heavy metal collector books, "The A-Z of Power Metal", and "Collector's Guide to Heavy Metal", as well as the "Heavy Metal Meltdown Trivial Pursuit Game".I continue to work with "EMPYRIA' and "MIKE KICHNIK" and have currently recorded 11 new tracks(04/08) for a new "EMPYRIA" album to be released late fall of 2008. Over the last ten years I have also been very fortunate to be a part of other great projects. The likes of "NEW HORIZON",(Vancouver,B.C) releasing 3 albums, (2000, 2001, 2006). I worked on the "THOR" Triumphant album (2001) and I have also been on the sound tracks for the "INTERCESSOR" DVD (SRS Cinema 2005) as well as the "GRAVEYARD" DVD(Fizz Films 2003) . There have also been a few compilation cd's, like " Westcoast Canadian Metal Feast " (Scrape records 2002), "Are You Ready" (Sudden Death Records), "Knuckletracks' (BW&BK 1999), and "Powerquest, The Awakening" (KMI Entertainment 1998) 2001). In 2007 I recorded 15 demo tracks for "SLEEVE", (Pringe George B.C.) which should see some recording time this year for a full length release, and most recently I returned from Dallas,Texas USA, where I recorded a 9 track demo with a christian rock band " 7 ". I have been a part of some great cover bands like "GOAT" and "SHADES of GREY" I have also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with canadian greats, such as "NICKELBACK" , "APRIL WINE", and "COLIN JAMES".

Sounds Like: I have Been compared to many great singers over the years, and I am humbled by the praise, However; I think a singers best compliment would be one that didn't sound like anybody, but to be unique, and to strive to be original........................"Phil leite's vocal style is influenced bymany master vocalists, such as Geoff Tate, James Labrie, John Arch, Ray Alder and evan Crimson Glory's Midnight. Phil has a strong powerful voice that could bring down walls. ( J.Mariante. BallBuster Online Metal Review 2003)..................Phil's vocals remind me of a more melodic, progressive, version of Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer) mixed with a Bruce Dickinson-like ability to hold a note for what seems like forever. (Chris Keltzer, Roughedge.com 2002)....................Vocalist phil leite has soaring voice which brings to mind James Labrie, Nick Wlash(Slik Toxic) , Geddy Lee,and even king Diamond. Great range to say the least. (Aaron Small, Brave words & Bloody Knuckles 2000.)..................
