Reviews Of the dambrots:
"the dambrots are a refreshing blend of catchy indie pop and heartfelt acoustic honesty. Cathartically foot tapping!" - Rear Window Radio / Toronto
"Delightful and tuneful. I fell in love with tracy wants to know in under 2 minutes, from hearing the first chord! Nice singing and playing on this album - wide range of instrumentation too... I'll definitely be spinning some of the tracks in the coming weeks/months."
"this is someone else's love is the latest melodic, sweet delivery from the dambrots. 12 sugar-coated songs, sung with love and with only a twist of regret. A nice collection of pop tunes - easy on the ear, and lovely harmonies that melt in the mouth." -
Mark Watkins, DJ of The Mark Watkins Music Show Blast 1386, Reading, Berkshire, England
"1) sweetly: Superb cut from their album " this is someone else's love",this single sees the dambrots finest at their folk, rock, pop, melodic best.
2) circle: With a whole calvacade of influences, you could be fooled into thinking several bands had made this unique and brisk single of peacefull, pop grooves. 3) imperfect: Now,this song should be praised for it's originality and calm energy. Some might find it quirky, but to the trained ear it's a sound that land's them somewhere between the finest bands. 4) tonight:Kicking off with a melodic intro that wouldn't sound out of place on a Paramore album, the mix of folk, pop, indie blends well. 5) lost again: We love how different styles have been swirled together through a forcible desire to do the proverbial 'something different' that just works. 6 winter: This can only be described as total emerald dynamite from one of the most sincere and genuine bands on the planet. 7 sea of blue: This title suggests exacly the type of song that it is which is yet another slice of lush melody with great power hooks from vocalist dawn marie. 8 summertime romance : While a band can often be accurately described by simply conflating their biggest influences, the truly great just sound like themselves.Challenging yet possesed of a welcoming warmth. 9 my new favourite shirt: The playfull qualities in evidence make the dambrots a far less daunting prospect than it's ambitious scope might suggest. 10 s.g.: al james is clearly a talented man using all the right instruments on this track.Although the title may not suggest much, it's much edgier than any other track on this album. 11) an hour ago:This tune abruptly demonstrates this bands instictive grasp of the best in alternative music. 12 i cried for hours: This now is work of such unnatural genius that you'd expect a heavy toll on it's creators mental health. With a creative impulse that makes you addicted to this band."

"Like the Beatles "White Album", a simple cover can have so much more meaning. the dambrots' album covers are plain to the eye, but their vibrant colors express their pleasant sound. the dambrots use vicious lyrics encrypted in beautiful, harmonious vocals, that could lull you to dream and make you weep dry. Complexly structured rhythms disguised as simple are the perfect accompaniment to this new and upcoming Folk/Pop duo. Nice on the ears, nice on the soul."
- Mike Flegar, Mid-Day DJ on WHCS New York City
"When you find yourself deep in the depths of heartache from a breakup, find a band such as the dambrots with albums like "especially not love" and "how to fall in love in 20 minutes," to remind yourself that you are not alone with your pain. Their words will echo back to you as if they are your own."

"I like what I hear (of the dambrots music)... I love dawn marie's voice...Trends always come and go, but singing and songwriting will always win at the end of the day." - NY City Radio legend Ken Dashow / Q104.3
"One of the most impressive acoustic CDs in recent years, the dambrots' debut CD 'especially not love' marks them as a band to watch. Bravely keeping the music stripped to the bare bones, the band is confident to let the strength of the songwriting, and the stirring haunting vocals carry the songs. That confidence is justified. What makes the CD so remarkable is how diverse and full the duo is able to make the songs sound with such sparse arrangements."
- CD World's Muzine Magazine - June 2003
"New Jersey natives dawn marie and al james have a good thing going with their mass production music house of a band called the dambrots. So far, they've released 3 discs, all with the same art, all different colors on their quest to release 8 discs, 1 for each color in the dambrots logo. On this, their third release "love, delusion…" they show off their art, a sort of acoustic simplicity that comes with built in harmonies and stripped down melodies. Haunting at times they can easily turn up the pace and arrange a pop sound . The long and short of it… a great listen, nicely packaged and enjoyable."
