ALEX AMSTERDAM (Germany)
myspace.com/alexamsterdam
ALEX AMSTERDAM - An authentic and acoustic journey between the beauty of moments and life's burdens. Catchy melodies, emotional vocals and smooth guitars are gently in line with mature, reflective but sportive lyrics.
Since the end of 2006, Alex is touring solo after being front man for the indie-band QUEEN MOM. He shared the stage with such acts as the Kilians, TON, Ermöbel, Fools Garden, Senore Matze Rossi and bestseller and VISIONS editor Oliver Uschmann.
For fans of easy listening and irresistible melodies: ALEX AMSTERDAM just came fresh out of the oven.
ALONE & ACOUSTIC (Austria)
myspace.com/aloneandacoustic
The musical background of Austria's finest acoustic export is dominated by loud tunes. Marcus Smaller, frontman of the renown punk rock band 3 FEET SMALLER, recently decided to go down the acoustic path to express a former unknown side of his personality: a calm and vulnerable one.
With practically no marketing his first acoustic album nearly sold out - a fact that portrays his extraordinary position in the austrian music market.
In 2008 Markus is about to leave Austria without his band colleagues and spread his quiet tunes all over Europe.
CARGO CITY (Germany)
myspace.com/cargocity
In 2006 singer/songwriter Simon Konrad decided to write songs on his own after his former indie rock band Siamese had split up. Loud electric guitars, broken strings and slivered cymbals were replaced by smoother sounds: CARGO CITY from Frankfurt was born.
Wonderful, bittersweet songs - sometimes melancholic and disenchanted - sometimes reflective and mediative. The reception of CARGO CITY's first EP "When I Sleep I Disappear" by German zines was tremendous - now CARGO CITY is ready to perform on German and European stages.
On stage Simon is supported by Nadine (piano, melodica, xylophone,
vocals), Rafael (guitar, percussions, laptop - beats) and Thilo (bass).
PULL A STAR TRIP (Germany)
myspace.com/pullastartrip
Clear acoustic guitars and gentle piano playing are mixed with melodic singing and emotional screaming. Fueled by the tokens that define excellent singing and song writing, PULL A STAR TRIP's melodies quickly become sing-alongs and listeners can't help but step into their spacecraft.
The band played two US and various European tours that took them to New York's CBGB's, Boston's Middle East, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Vienna, Eindhoven, Stockholm and Pisa. PULL A STAR TRIP was tour support for Jeff Caudill, former singer of Gameface (Revelation Records) and support for US american national act Afroman.
PULL A STAR TRIP started off as a duo and put out the very well received EP "Hooking up with Hope..." (sold about 5000 times) and the album "An Internship In Optimism". They will record their first full-band longplayer portraying their entire live set energy in early 2008. PULL A STAR TRIP will be back on european stages in March and on american stages in September.
ELYSÉE (Germany)
myspace.com/elyseemusik
Acoustic guitars combined with gripping vocal lines and sing-along choruses supported by bass and drums. With this mix ELYSÉE settled down somewhere between indie-rock and pop. Not rarely songs are adorned with piano melodies and finesses on the electric guitar, that remind on bands like Jimmy Eat World. But with one major difference: ELYSÉE are singing in German.
ELYSÉE started off as a sideproject of song writer Mike & Nils, in time they discovered their passion for acoustic music and bass player Ben and drummer Max (former member of Days In Grief) joined the band.
The first album with the new formation is planned for Autumn 08 accompanied with a release tour across germany
FILIPPS FIRMA (Germany)
myspace.com/filippsfirma
Despite their German name, FILIPPS FIRMA (engl. Filipps firm) performs wonderful songs in English that don't require a whole train of machinery but only minimal technical devices. Their music reminds of bands like "Jimmy Eat World" and "The Get Up Kids". FILIPPS FIRMA is a wonderful small family business, founded in 2002 by the two brothers Philipp and Pete Quest and expanded with Nils Krenz, keyboard, in 2004. Two guitars, two voices, catchy melodies, and relaxed appearance leave the listener feeling comfortable while experiencing this acoustic emo pop.
The band has played more than 200 concerts since its foundation in fall 2002 and impressed listeners in small clubs and pubs between Bielefeld and Berlin. Before producing their first full length album in 2005, Filipps Firma produced 2 demo CDs, which were sold over 1,000 times. "Global Player" is the name of their first studio album, which caught the attention of small TV and radio stations. FILIPPS FIRMA came in first at the 5. Ilmenauer Newcomerfestival, Germany.
BEAUTIFUL LIES (USA)
myspace.com/beautifulliesmusic
Emergenza Boston Finalists... Tours of the US East Coast and Midwest... Two eclectic CD releases... Beautiful Lies has done this and more in little under a year. With the release of their new album "Words Are All We Have," Beautiful Lies is ready to take on the world with their catchy brand of melodic alternative rock.
Formed by brothers/guitarists/keyboardists Nick and Zach McLean, bassist Alex Rossiter, and drummer Dave Widaman at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, the band has worked hard to provide high energy shows and electic albums to their growing fanbase. The band sold out their initial pressing of the "acoustic EP" and will hit Europe for the first time in March 2008 together with Pull A Star Trip from Germany.
CUBA MISSOURI (Germany)
myspace.com/cubamissouri
CUBA MISSOURI is a synonym for the dreary province and thus an ironic homage to the three protagonist’s roots.
Like their name - referring to an American backwater - the band is a juxtaposition of apparent opposites: singer/songwriter elements rub shoulders with aural assaults. Everything seasoned with a pinch of Electronica and “classic†Indie Rock. Short compact tracks and stirring soundscapes, madness and moving melodies. The results are usually unusual in structure, often melancholy, and at times aggressive songs full of warmth and soul.
THE GOOD HONEY SOCIETY (Sweden)
myspace.com/goodhoneysociety
Nobody actually wants to claim their love for emo anymore since it has gotten out of hand. But THE GOOD HONEY SOCIETY keeps on claiming.
Taking our main influences from 90's greats such as Starmarket, Fireside, Refused, Earth Crisis, Texas is the reason, Sense field and other various bands from Revelation records, Victory records and other groundbreaking labels, THE GOOD HONEY SOCIETY are trying to do something else than the Cure "staring-at-the-ground-feeling-sorry-for-our-selves-
hacking-our-wrists-into-a-million-pieces" thing.
Emo is alive and well if you look at it from the 90's, real, perspective. Add a pinch of old-school Hardcore and your almost there.
THE ORDINARY ME (Redfield Records, Germany)
myspace.com/theordinaryme
After their debut album „Breathing Is A Reflex“ on Redfield Records in 2006
THE ORDINARY ME underwent a lot of line-up changes and a constant progress of improving their independent music. Gentle harmonies meet innovative
song structures, sudden breakouts clash with moderate breezes.
In fall 2008 their EP „Belgica“ will be ready for her maiden voyage. This little endeavor will be the sneak peak for the large expedition taking place in 2009, when the band will release their second full length album.
On their second album the five sailors will stick to their favorite theme water. Witness their extraordinariness when they return to German and European harbors in 2008!
PRESS PLAY (Netherlands)

unique flavour. Their nice power pop vibe combined with rock sound and the powerful voice of frontgirl Loes stand for an ultimate live experience.
