About Me

Salvo Lombardo was born in Catania (Sicily) in 1982. His passion for Heavy Metal dates back to his early youth, when he was originally struck by the sound of the English band Iron Maiden, although it did not take long before he became thoroughly acquainted with many other Metal bands, manifesting thus his interest in all Metal music variants. At the age of sixteen Salvo put himself to the test actively by founding his first band, called Eternal Devastation, which engaged in reproducing old pieces by Metallica, Slayer, Testament and other well renowned Thrash Metal Bay Area bands. However, as time went by their work went through significant stylistic changes that brought them to play classical Heavy Metal and Power Metal pieces as well, mostly by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, Labyrinth and Edguy. In 2001 Lombardo singed in many concerts around the province of Siracusa with his new Stratovarius cover band, Stratosphere, which eventually broke up in that very year. Meanwhile, Lombardo was working on a new project that resulted in Key of Sadness, a collection of Symphonic/Black Metal authentic pieces, among which his first demo, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow. Finally, in 2002 Salvo started to gain a wider notoriety by founding a Dream Theater cover band, called Out of Time, with which he played in many important concerts around Siracusa. His new band was so convincing that eventually they resolved to participate in a national competition to become the official Italian Dream Theater cover band. Lombardo’s next step was the production of authentic musical pieces with his new band, Einheriar, which was founded in 2003 and which proved to be quite prolific. In fact, in 2004 they realized their first album, The last Prophecy, which was an evident tribute to the everlasting sound of Iron Maiden, and in 2005 their second musical effort was brought to completion, a promo called Portrait of human Soul, which was characterized by more modern and electronic features. In 2007 Lombardo has joined a symphonic power metal band from Ravanusa (AG), called Dies Ire, and the outcome of his collaboration with this new band has been Promo 2007. Dies Ire are presently playing in many important musical events all around Sicily.
