I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

.. After working in an art supplies store & custom picture framing shop for six and a half years, devoting my time and efforts to other people's art, I decided that it was time to get back to work on my own.In May of 2005 I left my management job with the store. Since I hadn't produced anything in over ten years, I found myself starting from the beginning using all my newly acquired free time putting down on paper, in sketch books, all the imagery that had been in my mind for so many years. By the beginning of 2007, I finally had enough pictures to select from that would form my first collection in over a decade.Prior to taking on a career in retail management, I moonlighted as a freelance illustrator while I was active duty Air Force, stationed in Europe. I don't know why I gave up the art. I guess I figured it was better to have a real job than to involve myself in something I could be passionate about.Though I enjoy working in a variety of mediums, such as oils, watercolor, pencil, ink, & charcoal, my passion is for block printing. It is an old art from in which an image is carved onto a block of wood, or in my case linoleum. Ink is then rolled over the block & paper pressed over that to transfer the image. Mainly, I enjoy drawing inspiration from subjects of mythology and literature. . . Though the art and the website are all still in work, there are currently samples of my finished work you can see. On the portfolio page you will find "Works In-Progress." Click on that link to see a sample of the pieces that I am currently on. The web address is; http://www.artfromthemindseye.com. In the mean time here are some examples...On this page, I consider these images as drafts. . . As I present new works to my growing collection, I am in hopes that I will be able to attract the attention of individuals interested in collecting my work. If you have any friends you know that might be interested in staying up-to-date with my progress, feel free to pass on this site as well as my website.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I AM ALSO ON FACEBOOK, JUST CLICK ON THE BADGE. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE ALSO. Artists and all those interested in art, especially mine. Okay. . . That sounds a little self centered. However, I would like to have that right one day. . . I espire to have a "friends" list that will allow me to communicate with others through the use of bulletins and blogs. I have invited people I have never met and people that seem interested in my work, while others have invited me to their "friends" list. All-in-all, it appears that I am just collecting profiles, but you will never find your client base or meet people that could become friends without working through everyone you come accross. It is true, that I don't know everyone, or have even met all the people on my top friends. A few, I have met or have been friends before I came to MySpace. Many of the others are there, because I find them interesting or admire their work. Sadly there isn't enough room to put all the people I admire right up there.
