I don’t really have an interesting story to put here. I have lived in Fort Lauderdale since my conception. People tell me “Oh it’s so rare to find a native Floridian” and I wonder… is it really? I seem to know lots of them… Anyway, I worked my way through high school and college meeting interesting people and enjoying most of my experiences. I have been fortunate enough to walk away from these experiences learning many lessons in life… who you can trust and who you can’t, why certain people are annoying, and who my friends are. Another lesson: Don’t go on a date with a guy wearing red running pants and a blue velour shirt…its just all kinds of wrong.

I am the type of person you either love or hate. I am sarcastic, occasionally rude, and usually speak my mind. I tell things how I see it and if that offends you, I am sorry. Get some thicker skin. Was that rude? Well, it was best stated once that if I am being rude to you, you will know it and I certainly won’t apologize. Oh, I find humor in a lot of things in life, even if it’s embarrassing. It makes things much more entertaining and it gives you stories to tell later on. Like this one time I drank a whole lot of strawberry daiquiri’s… now that’s a good story. Inside jokes make being on the inside so much more interesting.

I have a good group of friends that have ultimately replaced my family here. My parents retired and quickly moved upstate with my sister, her hubby and kids in tow shortly after. I rely on my friends to by my support system. We have started our own traditions for holidays and parties… theme parties are the new craze.

Here are some rules I live by:
Don’t go to a wig party thinking that it’s stupid ~ you will be the only one looking stupid without a wig.
Always carry an inflatable microphone with you. You never know when “scary-oke” will pop up.
Dance ~ but only if you know how.
Speak your mind. It’s what you don’t say that leaves people confused.
Be who you are and don’t be afraid to show it. I should have learned that a long time ago.
If you work with people, learn how to smile. It will make them want to come back.
Don’t ever go to TGI Fridays and expect good service when sitting outside. You will be disappointed.
It’s ok to be angry, justify it and move on.
Be the friend you want others to be for you.
It’s ok to be silly; it’s just inexcusable to be stupid.
Don’t live with regrets ~ they just leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
