I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training (I know I’m a little crazy running 26 miles!!). I am SUPER excited to participate in this marathon and be part of something that helps raise funds to help find the cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
On July 27, 2008 my aunt Gela Martinez (she the one with the red shirt on the left) lost her battle to a cancerous brain tumor. As you can imagine this was a very difficult situation for our family. Everyday she is extremely missed and although, she is not here physically she continues to inspire me in more ways than I can count.
She showed me how to fight when challenges arise but, most importantly she showed me the power of faith. She forever lives in my heart; teaching me to fly like an eagle, soaring to new heights. I understand the hardships this kind of battle entails not only for the individual but also their families. I take pride in honoring my aunt and in helping those facing the same battle she did.
I can't do this alone and I’m hoping you will be able to make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training (all proceeds go to the foundation). I know it's tough economically for us right now but ANY amount will help, it all adds up at the end! I would also appreciate prayer for endurance, strength, and of course for some donations! :)
The 10 ten reasons why you should donate:
10. It's a chance to save a life, it's a chance to make a difference
9. It's a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation!
8. Leukemia is the #1 killer of children

3. $500 provides aid to a patient for ONE YEAR
2. $1000 will help the LLS fund a researcher to find a cure

P.S. If you would like me to run in memory or in honor of someone battling ANY type of cancer please doesn't hesitate to tell me. I will wear a wristband with their name engraved.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
