I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am an Accounting Major, working in Home Healthcare, doing billing, A/P, A/R and other such stuff. I've lived in San Antonio my whole life and love it for the most part, although I would like to live out in the country. I want to be able to see the stars at night, to walk to my mailbox naked and noone can see me. I'm interested in traveling more and experiencing life outside these walls. My life has been pretty simple... I suppose. I feel that everyone suffers the same pain, just different backgrounds. When you've lived your life a certain way for such a long time, you have to assume that everything is right.... What else is there to compare it to but, the movies? On the positive side, I feel I am a strong, smart woman who is very loving and caring and quit goofy, with the right company, of course. My very bestest friend invited me to this sight and I would like to use it to meet new people with different backgrounds and make friends.

My Interests

.. Fishing, Reading, Movies, Music,Travelling being adventurous. I'd like to visit Australia some day.

I'd like to meet:

Just FRIENDS... no dating.

Music:

Alicia Keys, Indie Arie, Oldies, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Blues, Nina Simone, Bassa Nova, Salsa & everything else but, country. ( Not a big fan of country...except maybe Trisha Yearwood.) I think the music I like is based more on the meaning of the songs rather than the beat. Or possibly both.

Movies:

Good Will Hunting and Dogma. Like Water for Chocolate, Bad Education, and Romance movies or Romantic Comedies. Occasionally I enjoy the summer blockbusters or the latest scare flick. Loved 40 Yr Old Virgin, BeerFest(must see) and Eurotrip. All time favorite movies are What Dreams May Come, with Robin Williams, Point of No Return, with Bridget Fonda and City of Angels with Meg Ryan.

Television:

I like to watch the Discovery Channel, Garden Channel and Comedy Central. The shows I catch occasionally are The Colbert Report, ER, Grey's Anatomy, Men in Trees, The 4400, UFC & sometimes late at night those other more risque shows on HBO & Showtime. Not very keen on reality shows.

Books:

I like books about womens struggle during any period of time actually. Whether it be a personal struggle or social struggle. Some of my favorite authors are Laura Esquivel (Law of Love), Isabel Allende & Iyanla Vanzante. Most recent books read are Lovely Bones, Life of Pi, & Portrait in Sepia. The Di Vinci Code, I found it quite intriguing. It is a mystery with non stop action and a lot of symbolism and biblical references.

Heroes:

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Sun In Me

It's cold in here, dark.  I'm shaking and my lips are numb.  A smile, would only make them bleed.  The blood in my chambers is slowing down.  Ice is bouncing off my skin.  It'...

office love affair

I can still remember the smell when I got into his baby blue pickup.  It was musky, like old books and cigars.  He was always conservatively dressed, with pens in his left side pocket of his...
