About Me

STÉPHANE knew early on that he was obsessed with music and that he wanted to become a singer/songwriter/musician. He spent most of his childhood listening to records (The Beatles,The Stones,James Brown,Lennon,Wings,Pink Floyd,funk/disco-funk,Prince,Sly & The Family Stone,TTD,Lenny Kravitz,David Bowie,Bruce Springsteen,Queen,The Police,Duran Duran,Peter Gabriel,Depeche Mode,U2...and hundreds of others) and making covers or remixed versions of his favorite tracks. Stéphane started playing drums at age 9, then sold his kit a few years later to buy an electric guitar, a drum machine, and a keyboard, to start reproducing the many melodies he had in his head since he was 5.During his teenage years he formed a few bands & did his first gigs, but since he felt that he was definitely more passionate, driven and serious about a future in music than most kids of his age (and especially after discovering that one person could do it all after reading the credits on PRINCE's albums),he decided to go solo, and started recording his demos doing all the parts on different tracks just like his purple idol. After losing his father from cancer, he moved for a while to his cousins home in Rhode Island (later in New-York). He also met Howard Jones and gave him a demo. A few weeks later, the British popstar sent a letter to Stéphane saying he was impressed with his music and dedication.Later, he formed a band with his best childhood friend, which became more of a recording studio team, where they produced, arranged, and mixed albums for other artists in the studio they co-owned. Being a music lover with eclectic tastes, Stéphane experimented in many different musical styles, from funk/dance pop to experimental progressive Jazz, and more. He also did some dj work, and remixed songs for pop music icons DURAN DURAN which frontman SIMON LEBON and guitarist WARREN CUCCURULLO (also from FRANK ZAPPA/MISSING PERSONS) both really loved.Conversations with Lebon and Cuccurullo gave Stéphane the boost he needed to focus even more on his own songwriting, resulting in the recording of many very personal acoustic/alternative tracks about life,love,girlfriends,sex,peace... On 9/11 he expressed his worries about the attacks on the World Trade Center into a song entitled ''New York In Smoke'' which he completed the same day. Later he returned to NYC (Brooklyn and Manhattan) where he performed at a metro station. He also produced,co-arranged,mixed,and did the artwork for 2 albums by experimental jazz guitarist Wittox O'hara, and created two songs using atmospheres and ambient material featuring Warren Cuccurullo.Stéphane is currently working on new material in different genres (as always) and is recording a cover of a U2 classic (one of his all time favorite bands). He is a vegetarian, and tries to support as much as possible the following causes: Amnesty International,The One Campaign,Peta (+ other animal rights groups),and other ones against hate, racism, homophobia,& child labor.FRENCH VERSION COMING SOON PLEASE WATCH THESE VIDEOS...
