Set aside music for just a moment as I make an official statement.....Casual-T for lack of a better phrase is simply a brilliant individual. Instead of keeping with the monotonous script of a long, vainglorious bio, he chooses to express his bio artistically by placing his life's song in his music.Casual-T believes we are all born producers and song writers. He states, “We all as humans have a song to tell, as a matter of fact, the second we are born we start production." This song that he speaks of has no literal music connotation, but more a metaphor relating to our life's legacy or our life's song.Casual-T, musically has found a median between religion, education, history, the streets, life lessons along with common sense and has creatively merged them all together forming and creating new genres of music he refers to as "Rugged Soul", "Conscious Hustla" and "Smooth Gangsta." Casual-T doesn't refer to himself as a hip-hop artist or rapper. "Rappers belonged to the decades of the 60's, 70's and the early 80's and Hip-Hop artists represented the time period of the mid 80's-late 90's", says Casual-T. "In fact to refer to me as simply a rapper would bring about the same offense as referring to me as a Negro or colored", he says.Today's urban music sound has been contorted, distorted, and ultimately aborted. What is left is an unrecognizable, unnamable style of music, which includes elements of hip-hop/rap/soul/r&b/rock'n'roll/classical/blues and jazz. "It is on the individual musician to label himself and his or her music. Me myself when I am asked, I say straight out, "I'm a Musician." I tell them I AM A CREATIVE WORD MANIPULATOR," says Casual-T.So without any further eloquence............Interviewed and written by Left Red Handed
