My Interests

hmmm where to start? Well i'm a post-grad student in the Arts and work in a museum so I would really be going down the wrong career path if I didn't enjoy going to galleries and other museums. My specialism is 20th century art and culture but I'm an eclectic person and admire everything from Giotto to Gilbert & George. I have travelled quite a bit and hope to do more when time and money permit- isn't that the case for all of us?! I think going back to Japan is next on my hit list. On a more day-to-day scale I love being around my friends who are constant source of humour, inspiration and occssional confusion! (you know who you are) And with these lovely people I enjoy their company, going to the waterfront, gigs and the movies.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Above anything else I love the energy and immediacy of live music, you really can't beat the feeling of sheer utter pleasure it can bring and to be honest it doesn't really matter about the genre, if it's good, it's good! For anyone who's interested I also like The Shins, The Hives, The Rakes, The Futureheads, The Killers, The Unicorns, The White Stripes, The Go-Team, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Vines, The Pistolas, The Rapture, The Little Ones, The Rumble Strips (and lots of other bands beginning with 'The'!) We Are Scientists, Larrikin Love, Muse, Klaxons, Joan As Policewoman, Willy Mason, Maximo Park, Arctic Monkeys, Death Cab, Turin Brakes, Howling Bells, Bic Runga, Switches, Pull Tiger Tail, New Young Pony Club, Jack Penate, Jeff and Jack Lewis, Air Traffic......enough already!

Movies:

Well I can quote Grease and Terminator 2 verbatim so i'm not sure what that says about me, probably that I like a whole range of films depending on my mood. I think the two of the most thought provoking and powerful films i've seen recently have been City of God and This Is England, but on a lighter note I love Little Miss Sunshine and Bringing Up Baby. I hope one day in the future to be watching films made by my brother, bro I want a mention in your Oscar speech and I want tears god damn it!

Television:

I loved the series Tribe with Bruce Parry. I also am a big fan of Shameless, Teachers, Black Books and This Life (i want them all back on the telly) And then there's my guilty pleasure the O.C... on paper I should hate it but i cant help myself from loving it. bloopers the OC
