[M]ark [MOD]ern began his musical ventures at the age of 3 when he started playing guitar, and also began playing violin in his early years. At the age of 10, he discovered drumming, and has since focused his attention on it, playing everything from big band, to country, and progressive rock and metal.

"Studying music and learning different instruments gives me the knowledge and understanding of what to play and what NOT to play. Writing music also gives me insight as to when to play, when to accent certain melodies, riffs, grooves, and how to leave space for other instruments to shine....it's all about the song"

[M]ark [MOD]ern describes himself as a positive, motivated, and energetic. His favorite drummers are Virgil Donati, Mike Mangini, Carter Beauford, Dennis Chambers, Jimmy DeGrasso, Lars Ulrich, Raymond Herrera, Jose Pasillas, Jeremy Taggart, and Christian Tanna.
