Summer Incidents - The Nazca Lines
The Nazca Lines Started in the spring of 2003. After a period of songwriting
and performing in 2004 the EP 'Hiding in the Sun' was recorded.
Spring 2005 the band entered the 'Winston Pop Price' Competition and after winning quarter and semi finales,
the band played the final in a sold out Melkweg.
This was with Arry on Bass (now playing with The Jig) and Sebastiaan on Guitar. Check our friends.
The Nazca Lines is about 60's and 70's guitar rock. Firm but at the same time sensual rocksongs.
Inspiration comes from bands such as: Deep purple, Led Zeppelin, Fatal Flowers, Herman Brood,
Creedence Clearwater Revival and Iggy Pop.
Line up consists of Tjarko: Guitar/Vocals, Irmo: Guitar, Daan: Bass, Reinier: Drums.
During gigs often accompanied by Marieke: Saxophone and Monique & Jaqueline - The Bonita's - as Backing Vocals.
The band members played and are playing in several other bands and projects. Daan performes for years with the band 'De Hardheid'.
Irmo is reviving the old classic hits from the 60's and 70's with his band 'The Revival'.
Tjarko and Reinier played with earlier bands and performed opening acts for artists such as Herman Brood, The Dijk, The Scene
and played in the semi final of 'De Grote Prijs van Nederland', a big band compettition in the Netherlands.
The Name Nazca Lines derives from the place Nazca in Peru, Where in the desert about 3000 years ago lines where made like a monkey, Hummingbird, etc...
There only visible from the sky that led to all sorts of speculation as to what they mean and how they where created.
But all that doesn't matter, it's just cool.
