About Me

JP Tha HUSTLER (also known as Jason "JP" Pearl) has been producing professionally since 2001, beginning with featured production on Houston rapper Po' White Trash's nationally distributed release "Po' Like Dis."
In 2001, he hooked up with Insane Poetry frontman Cyco, co-founded Grim Reality Entertainment, and re-formed Insane Poetry for its third incarnation releasing the underground cult classic "Faith In Chaos." In 2005, he released his first mixtape which was a collection of production work from 1995 through 2005. The mixtape featured tracks with San Diego rapper Freaks, Los Angeles rap group Dat A.L.C., Michigan Horrorcore rapper KGP, unreleased Insane Poetry material, and early demo and basement tracks.
From 2005 through 2008, JP was busy providing tracks for various mid-west and west coast artists, touring, and appearing on compilation CDs for Detroit label, Long Range Distribution. In late 2007, JP released "Hustle & Grind: Tha EP" which was a collection of 6 songs recorded between 2005 and 2007 and acted as the pre-curser to the full-length Hustle & Grind album.
In 2008, Cyco and JP released Insane Poetry's third full-length album, "Fallen From Grace," which is currently distributed nationwide and has already been proclaimed as another classic Insane Poetry album.
In February of 2008, JP released his first full-length album, "Hustle & Grind," which features appearances by West Coast legend Sly Boogy, San Diego's Freaks, Compton's Cisco Locc, Anaheim's Lowdown & Spark, and Cyco from Insane Poetry. The CD highlights JP's production while also displaying his vocal prowess on a few tracks.
JP's latest album "Definition..." was released in July of 2009, and is available through all major online retailers. It features appearances by: Insane Poetry, McNastee, Omowale Payne, Jay Spark, Scum, and more.
