About Me

I started playing guitar when I was 8 years old. My first electric guitar was a cherry red Gibson Les Paul Junior. In 1965 I traded in the Les Paul Junior for a cherry red Gibson SG. My dad bought it for me new for $350. You can see me playing it in the photo slide-show below with my band, The Barbarians, in 1966 (I was 13). In 2006 I was offered $5000 cash for that guitar, a pretty good example of appreciation. Of course I would not sell it! I also have an Ovation Elite, a Taylor CE-214 Grand Auditorium, an Alvarez (Gibson Dove replica), a Martin 12 string J12-15, a Gibson Les Paul Classic, and an old Sears Model 319 acoustic.I am 54 years old, married to Susan for 31 years, and we have 2 boys, David and Jonathan. David, 25, graduated from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University, with a Bachelors in Music, Jazz Piano, and is a full-time musician in Chicago. You can check out his Myspace site by clicking on his site from my Friend Space below. He is in numerous Chicago bands including Hudson (Jazz Fusion), NuBlu (R&B), and Alternate Ending (Jazz), also accessible from my Friend Space below. Jonathan, 22, is a student at Ball State University, majoring in Business. Jonathan is also a great musician playing guitar and piano and writing and recording many great original songs.I am a Senior Principal Systems Engineer at Raytheon Company here in Fort Wayne and although I enjoy engineering very much, I'd have to list music and playing guitar as my greatest passion. You can catch me at Open Mics in Fort Wayne, IN such as Come2Go (C2G) the 1st Monday night of each month, the Firefly Coffee House on Wednesday nights, and Mad Anthony Brewing Co. - Munchie Emporium on Thursday nights. On Sundays you can hear me praising God and worshiping with the Praise Band at my church, Crosspointe Community Church (CCC) on Stellhorn Road.
