Wicked Gift

About Me

Originally conceived as a studio project for the recording of Phil Fox's 2002 solo release, "Songs for Nocturna", WICKED GIFT clicked so well as musicians and friends that the urge to "go live" became irresistible. Many shows later,"Stained Glass Scars", the band's 2004 debut CD, was released to uniformly positive reviews, highlighting the group's unique and instantly recognizable sound; (twisted, violin-laced, alt-pop/rock).2006 saw the release of "Down For The Summer", a "musical mini-drama" about one crazed year of living in a southern resort town. Discussions are underway to mount a theatrical production early 2009. Meanwhile, new material continues to be written and recorded for the next, (as yet untitled), CD. The latest "single"; The Island/ Caught In a Dream, will be available this summer. (2008). Wicked Gift live shows have netted a fanatical following; "We love to make records, but live is still what we do best".WICKED GIFT music may purchased online through CDBaby.com, locally in MB at ; Sounds Better, Kilgore Trout, (Live Shows), and via digital downloads on Apple ITunes, Rhapsody, MusicNet, MusicMatch, and Napster. Thanks !!!!!!!The Sideshow Below features Jess Mosel modeling the "W.G." t-shirt she designed for us. Photos by Tonya Bellamy. T-shirts are available for $10.00 at shows and via online request.

Devils and Angels

In "Down For The Summer" we spent a whole CD exploring the differing expectations young men and women can bring to love, sex, and relationships. (That wasn't necessarily the original intent, but that'...

Captain Retail

The hole around which this particular doughnut was constructed was a theatrical concept; I've been in and out of retail locations many times fixing cash registers, and I've heard the same phone conver...

The Buzz

My thing about the whole "falling in love" experience, (esp, the delirious, "what was I thinking?" variety), is that at some level, you give yourself permission to do it. And if I were in the bus...
