About Me

{}

Layout by CoolChaserThe Flamingo is one of the oldest nightclubs of its kind in the country, having operated from the same site since the beginning of the 1980s until 2006. The original building in which it was housed, overlooking Blackpool North railway station on Talbot Road, was bought by Blackpool Council and is scheduled for demolition, which would see the redevelopment of large sections of the town. The Flamingo relocated to a new, larger premises on 27 January 2006. The new club is located in the old Odeon cinema building on Dickson Road, not far from the original site, alongside a newly-built Flying Handbag pub and Bar B/Funny Girls. The huge and famous Flamingo nightclub. Entrance is through the glass walkway in Queen Street. The multi-levelled, multi-million pound venue is a clubbers paradise. Main ultra-modern under-lit dance floor on the bottom level with another one, often running a different theme, on the top level. Hi-tech sound and lighting. Two large projection screens and banks of video screens. Cabaret acts often include Headliners. Modern bar areas on every level. Now has an open late license that's normally 4am, but 6am on some days. A top of the range venue that really is the ultimate in clubbing.
