I am a published author of "weird" fiction. Much of my writing has been related directly or indirectly to H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, but I have moved on to find my own voice with one sidetrack to salute Clark Ashton Smith. I've published more than two dozen stories in magazines, chapbooks, online, e-books, and hard-print books. Many of those stories have been reprinted a number of times in the U.S. and U.K. Two collections of my tales have been published to date, with a third in the works. Mythos Books published my ANCIENT EXHUMATIONS in 1999; that edition of 500 copies sold out in 10 months.
My TAINT OF LOVECRAFT collection was published in 2002, also by Mythos Books. The run of 750 copies has sold out, and the publisher and I are currently working on a reprint that we plan to have available late in 2008.
In 2004, Elder Signs Press published a reprint of my first collection with two extra new stories added, calling it ANCIENT EXHUMATIONS +2; that edition of 1,000 copies has nearly sold out. Elder Signs Press is planning to reprint this edition to keep it in print.
A new, third collection of my tales, THINGS THAT ARE BUT NEVER WERE, is currently in the works; Hippocampus Press has agreed to publish it. S.T. Joshi has helped me choose the stories for this collection and will be the editor. My Crete/Qom-maq trilogy will comprise the main part of the volume. I'm currently finishing the third tale in this trilogy/novel, and in my opinion the trilogy is my finest work, 15 years in the making! Hippocampus plans to publish it in the Fall or Winter of 2009. In the meantime, my ancient Egyptian novella, "Nyarlatophis, A Fable of Ancient Egypt," will be in THE TINDALOS CYCLE (edited by Bob Price for Hippocampus press and due out in early 2009) in a somewhat revised form as a noted Egyptian scholar (he is French, actually and has written 2 wonderful books on Egyptian religon that are for sale at Amazon.com, EGYPT: TRUNK OF THE TREE, Vols. 1 & 2) kindly agreed to go over my novella for historical accuracy which prompted a few minor changes (not many, however, and I'm very proud of that fact!). I also made a few minor revisions myself.I plan to take up sculpting after attending (will be doing readings and will be on panels) the 2008 H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon the first weekend in October. For further info on this fun festival (Brian Lumley, S.T. Joshi, Joseph Pulver, W.H. Pugmire, Robert M. Price and more will be there!), go to www.hplfilmfestival.comMy novella "Nyarlatophis, A Fable of Ancient Egypt," will appear in late 2008 or early 2009 in THE TINDALOS CYCLE (Hippocampus Press) edited by Robert M. Price. I've updated the story since its appearance in TAINT OF LOVECRAFT to reflect what I've learned about ancient Egypt since the story was first written, and I have made a few historical corrections kindly suggested by French journalist and Egyptian religious authority, Simson Najovitz.
