SIXDAYWAR

About Me

Six Day War began to take shape back in 2000 on the North Shore of Auckland when guitarist & vocalist Chris, drummer Will & guitarist James (at that time substitute bassist) banded together to create what they all love; good hard metal. Playing together & with a growing familiarity over the years, a goal for the group started to emerge.Six Day War began real work writing in their Devonport practice room through 2002 and with similar tastes, styles, & frames of mind, 6DW grew tight & developed the brutal execution they are becoming known for today. With the addition of Gavin on the bass in early 2003, allowing James to move back to his primary position as guitarist, & moving Chris to the position of vocalist full time, the band was complete, & strode ahead with fresh intensity, focused on making waves in the NZ music scene.Their aggressive style & raw energy on stage are creating a name very quickly for Six Day War as they launch themselves head-long into NZ music. With songs like I See Them All Dead, One For War and Hunter of Humans, 6DW have been shattering the silence and playing to consistently growing audiences. Within their first year the band has fought through The 2003 NZ Battle of the Bands to come out on top & take out first place at the national final. Continuing their sonic assault through 2004 Six Day War released their debut single ‘Permanent Shadow' in mid March, the band launched the single with an intense show, playing to a crowd of over a hundred rabid metal fans crammed into Real Groovy Records in Auckland. The single has been chosen to appear on the first Axe Attack compilation album alongside other great NZ metal bands.Early '04 Six Day War were also selected to shake the foundations of Western Springs Stadium & played to a near sell out crowd of 30,000 people at the biggest extreme sport event to ever hit NZ, The Crusty Demons Global Assault Tour. With the departure of Will late 2004, Jeremy Chapman someone the band see as a great musician and important influence on the sound the band has always wanted to achive, emerged from the masses and was quickly added to the ranks. The addition of Jeremy has allowed the band to stay on the offensive and strive with purpose toward a common goal. Now in mid 2006 6DW evolve once again with the addition of Ben, the new lead guitarist. A sonic attack on a level the band has never reached before. His skill and creativity force a fresh fuel into the war machine. Prepare for war!No holding back, the band is set to destroy your concept of heavy, & continue the tradition of metal and carry out its legacy as we see fit!!!! Heavy fucken Metal to all! ..
