ROLLERCOASTERS!!!! (Magic Mountain, anyone?) Playing pool. Cooking. Tattoos. Furry animals. Music. Really deep massages. Road trips. Ocean Beach. Hot tubs. Horseback riding. Swimming. Going out to eat. Using power tools. Building things and refinishing furniture. Getting free stuff. Spending time with my family, who are wonderful, kind-spirited, intelligent, fascinating people.

Name a genre and I have something. Also lots of soundtracks too, (since I worked at a movie theater for so long): Austin Powers (the first one), Blue Velvet, Cruel Intentions, Go, Hackers, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Lost Highway, Paradise Road, Phantom of the Opera (actually the live theater version), Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting. There are a lot more that I can't remember off the top of my head.
"The Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch (for those of you who want to know about the matching tattoos Steven and I have):Blades of Glory!! The House of Yes, Palindromes, The Harry Potter movies, Happiness, Romper Stomper, American History X, The War Zone, Brazil, City of Lost Children, Titus, Caligula (the X-rated version), Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, Bully, Kung-Pow Enter the Fist, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Kings of Comedy, Dark City, Brain Candy, Pirates of The Caribbean, Waiting..., 8 1/2 Women. There are lots more that I like and/or own. Basically if I had to name the overall genre of movies I like best, I would call it "Not for Everyone" because most people just aren't as disturbed as I am. But I do also enjoy a good comedy- especially if it is a dark comedy or particularly clever.
Law and Order. Almost anything on Comedy Central. Especially South Park and the Daily Show. Also I spend a great deal of time watching the Discovery Science Channel and the History International Channel. I like documentaries on Egypt the best. And undersea archeology. And Mysteries of the Bible- I like seeing the archaeological evidence that shows how millennia have caused people to get things all wrong as their ethnocentric biases affect their interpretation of what Jesus was like.
I have a lot of Science Fiction. A lot. My favorite authors are Orson Scott Card, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, Tad Williams, a few others who consistently write engaging fiction. Some vaguely disturbing regular fiction, like The Secret History, Mysterious Skin, This Boy's Life. Many psychology (mostly) non-fiction books about people with various disorders like Sybil, Prozac Nation, Just Checking. Some biographies- Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe. And almost every book Anne Rice has ever written. Also, the Phantom Tollbooth is probably the coolest book ever. Except possibly 120 Days of Sodom by the Marquis de Sade. (In similar genres, I also love Through the Looking Glass, and The Story of O).
I don't know... I sort of do my own thing. Maybe my grandmother, she has had a pretty amazing life, travels a lot, and has exquisite taste. I aspire to more of those things, I suppose.
