About Me

If you really want to know what I am like, check out my blogs. If you're only interested in what I look like, the rest doesn't matter anyway. ............................................................ ........................................................ I do my best to avoid being easily stereotyped or categorized. Not that I defy description, just that I am not what people might expect. I don't drink or do drugs... I used to, but I found out the hard way that in spite of what people had led me to believe, drugs and alcohol did not actually improve the quality of my life. In fact I was miserable and psychotic and did my best to make everyone around me equally miserable. ............................................................ ................................................... These days my pleasures are simpler and less mind-altering. I have many tattoos that are not visible unless I show them and most people would never guess I have. I have silk sheets on my bed. My cats sleep with my rottweilers at night. I thrive on defeating your expectations of who you think I am, and smile when I see I have caught you off guard. I am more than you bargained for, MUCH more. Want to know more? Like I said, read my blogs....................................................... ............................................................ .. ............................................................ ........................................................ type/ score/ type behavior motivation ............................................................ ........................................................ 1 / 53/ I must be perfect and good to be happy. ............................................................ ........................................................ 8 / 53/ I must be strong and in control to be happy. ............................................................ ........................................................ 6 / 49/ I must be secure and safe to be happy. ............................................................ ........................................................ 2/ 40/ I must be helpful and caring to be happy. ............................................................ ..........................................................Th is profile was edited with MySpace Help - Profile Creator and Editor MySpace Profile Help!

Music:

Name a genre and I have something. I have about 250 CD's and my collection is very eclectic- and growing all the time.A sampling of my collection: Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Alien Spy, the Andrews Sisters, Audioslave, Babes in Toyland, Bad Religion, Beck, the Big Six, Blue Oyster Cult, Dave Brubeck, the Charlatans UK, the Chazz Cats, Chevelle, the Distillers, Lou Donaldson, the Doors, Dru Down, D12, E-40, Lisa Ekdahl, Eminem, Encomium (the Led Zeppelin tribute), FANG, FlexXBronco, Fuel, the Fugees, Ella Fitzgerald, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Guns & Roses, Heaven 17, Indigo Swing, Jimmy Eat World, Norah Jones, the KGB, Cyndi Lauper, Avril Lavigne, Peggy Lee, the Pharcyde, Lee Press-on & the Nails, the Lovemakers, Lush, Maroon 5, Mazzy Star, Michael Jackson (BAD special edition, I bought it for Smooth Criminal), the Glenn Miller Orchestra (for "In the Mood"), the Mighty Blue Kings, Nelly, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, No Doubt, Oasis, ODB ("Got your Money"), Oppressed Logic, Paperboy, Pearl Jam, the Pixies, Portishead, Finley Quaye, Royal Crown Revue, Reverend Horton Heat, Self, the Brian Setzer Orchestra, Soundgarden, the Stray Cats, Stone Temple Pilots, Frank Sinatra, Saliva, Shakespear's Sister, Sleeper, Sneaker Pimps, Soundgarden, Staind, The Supreme Beings of Leisure, Velvet Underground, Violent Femmes, The White Stripes, Bill Withers, Wreckz NFX.Some classical pieces like Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D Minor. Also lots of soundtracks too, (since I worked at a movie theater for so long): Austin Powers (the first one), Blue Velvet, Cruel Intentions, Go, Hackers, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Lost Highway, Paradise Road, Phantom of the Opera (actually the live theater version), Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting. There are a lot more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Movies:

"The Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch (for those of you who want to know about the matching tattoos Steven and I have):Blades of Glory!! The House of Yes, Palindromes, The Harry Potter movies, Happiness, Romper Stomper, American History X, The War Zone, Brazil, City of Lost Children, Titus, Caligula (the X-rated version), Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, Bully, Kung-Pow Enter the Fist, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Kings of Comedy, Dark City, Brain Candy, Pirates of The Caribbean, Waiting..., 8 1/2 Women. There are lots more that I like and/or own. Basically if I had to name the overall genre of movies I like best, I would call it "Not for Everyone" because most people just aren't as disturbed as I am. But I do also enjoy a good comedy- especially if it is a dark comedy or particularly clever.

Television:

Law and Order. Almost anything on Comedy Central. Especially South Park and the Daily Show. Also I spend a great deal of time watching the Discovery Science Channel and the History International Channel. I like documentaries on Egypt the best. And undersea archeology. And Mysteries of the Bible- I like seeing the archaeological evidence that shows how millennia have caused people to get things all wrong as their ethnocentric biases affect their interpretation of what Jesus was like.

Books:

I have a lot of Science Fiction. A lot. My favorite authors are Orson Scott Card, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Andre Norton, Tad Williams, a few others who consistently write engaging fiction. Some vaguely disturbing regular fiction, like The Secret History, Mysterious Skin, This Boy's Life. Many psychology (mostly) non-fiction books about people with various disorders like Sybil, Prozac Nation, Just Checking. Some biographies- Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe. And almost every book Anne Rice has ever written. Also, the Phantom Tollbooth is probably the coolest book ever. Except possibly 120 Days of Sodom by the Marquis de Sade. (In similar genres, I also love Through the Looking Glass, and The Story of O).

Heroes:

I don't know... I sort of do my own thing. Maybe my grandmother, she has had a pretty amazing life, travels a lot, and has exquisite taste. I aspire to more of those things, I suppose.
