Slant 6 was formed in 1993 in Washington DC from the ashes of Autoclave
(of Autoclave) Soda Pop* Rip off*, was released through Dischord Records on Valentines Day 1994. Their 2nd full-length, INZOMBIA, is based on a true story of a reoccurring, infectious disease that periodically alters one's state of mind and is spread by the scratch of a dead cat. Slant 6 came to an end while on tour in England, and played their last show with Fugazi in Leeds in 1995. Often grouped in with the "riot grrrl" movement, or their DC post-hardcore peers, Slant 6 defied all genres and labels simply by being a kick ass punk rock band. 14 years on,their songs still exude a genuine honesty and have stood the test of time.
This is not an official Slant 6 page. I do not know the members of Slant 6, and nor do i know how to reach them. I'm merely a fan from the DC area who is old enough to remember how damn good they were. It's about time others remembered, too.
