After collecting all those jazz, soul and funk records Rainer Trueby needed another hobby...he found it in the form of fermented grapes, he loved it and now he wants to share his hobby with the public! His personal "red nose district" is called "Beats & Öxle" and takes place @ Waldsee / Freiburg bimonthly. He always invites a winemaker to present his selection of wines and he is joined by fellow liverbirds on the decks to play some old school jazz soul funk and latin music.
Together with Jazzanova he compiled a winecookbook entitled "Beats, Bites & Öxle" which represents the spirit of the event, wine,food and music...you will find some of the winemakers favourite recipes alongside some corresponding wine recommendations plus of course some soulful music selections from the Sonarkollektiv catalogue put together by JvK from Jazzanova and Rainer.
