Laura Pron was born in Buenos Aires, Avellaneda on the 8th of July, 1968. Laura’s music career began in 1991 by joining the Quilmes’s juvenile school choir directed by Fabio Cifres and Juan Casabellas, with whom she worked until 1993. Among those years, she took acting lessons at different municipal theater workshops and also joined to different acting studios. From years ’93 until ’96, she sang in an indie band, “Color a Vicio,†which had Rock, Funk and Heavy Metal influences. During the years of ’96 till ’98 she took singing lessons with the Argentinean professor, Pablo Enricci and she formed a band, “Viejo Harlem,†in which she was the main singer and composer. The band had Soul and Funk influences. After “Viejo Harlem†disbanded, Laura Pron worked as a cover singer with an Argentinean guitarist, Maximiliano Serrano. In the year 2001 she created “Laura Pron Tango†with Argentinean guitarists Omar Medina, Nicolás Pacheco, and Julián Hermida. “Laura Pron Tango†played in the Argentinian Tango scene until 2002. During 2003, she had worked as a sessionist vocalist for different independent projects. In the year 2004 she got together with an Argentinean musician, Sergio Adanis, with whom she recorded the “Experimental Sessions.†During the same period, they also began creating the soundtrack for a play named “Piedad†from an Argentinean theater company called “T.S.O.†Later in the year 2005, “T.S.O.†called her to join the multimedia play, “Piedad.†Laura Pron acted and sang on 24 “Piedad†live performances at the “Centro Cultural Recoleta†theater in Buenos Aires. During the same year and until the present she has been working in private parties and events together with “T.S.O.†In the year 2006, she opened the Argentinean Folkloric Fest “Cosquinâ€, at the state of Cordoba, singing the Argentinean National Anthem. Currently, she works in her independent Tango project, “Alma Negra,†and is rehearsing for a new “T.S.O.†play that will be released soon.
