About Me
To first start off, this is NOT the real DJ Project Myspace. This is just a fan who created this as a tribute to them. The following information is taken from DJ Project's offical webpage (www.dj-project.ro)In October 2000, two DJs from Timisoara, DJ Gino Manzotti (Handke Guiseppe) and DJ Maxx (Floarea Ovidiu Nicolae) decided to found a musical project named, accordingly, DJ Project.
The following year they release their first album, "Experience", at Media Services Sony Music. In 2002 another one of their albums - "Spune-mi tot ce vrei" - is produced by Media Services again.
Since autumn 2003 Dj Gino Manzotti and Dj Maxx also included in their project Elena (Elena Batlagan), and released "Lumea ta", their third album as a group and the first in the new formula.
In 2004 DJ PROJECT was the Romanian group to feature in the Romanian Top 100 for the longest period of time - 40 weeks - with their single "Lumea ta". The next release, "Printre vise", was another musical success of the year, played intensely by the Romanian radio stations.
In 2005 the single "Lumea ta" begun its European career, being promoted by Ministry of Sound - the most important record company in Europe, focusing mainly on euro-dance. At radio stations in many European countries Europe played the Romanian as well as the English version of the song, along with numerous remixes. In Europe, DJ Project was promoted using the name "Elena".
Also in 2005, DJ Project return to Media Services with a new album, named "Soapte". It had the advantage of a triple release: the first in Timisoara, in club Heaven, the second at MTV Live, in a concert held in the Constitution Square, in Bucharest, and the third in club Bamboo, also in Bucharest. That was the last performance of a Romanian group in club Bamboo, before the fire that burned down the old construction.
The first release from the album was "Privirea ta", a super-hit that not only dominated all Romanian charts and radio station play lists, but also became a symbol for thousands of love stories in which lovers declared each other: "Nu pot uita/privirea ta" - I cannot forget/your look. „Privirea ta†was not just the hit of the summer 2005, but the one of the whole year, along with their second release from this album, â€Soapteâ€.
In 2005 the group celebrated, by participating in the TV-show "Surprize, surprize", 5 years of activity (October 25th 2005) and they received two surprises: their first Golden Disc, granted by Media Services for sales of over 35.000 units, and the first double album in their career. Both the receiving of the Golden Disc and the release of the double album took place during another TV show - TEO, on PRO TV, on November 29th 2005. The double album, also named "Soapte", contains, beside the CD with the tracks from the album "Soapte", a second CD with 12 tracks, among which were to be found radio, video and club versions for the re-orchestrated single "Soapte", and, live from Europe for the fans in Romania, the best remixes of "Lumea ta", produced by Gabri Ponte, Potatoheadz, Angel C and Jean, and also the English version of "Lumea ta" recorded especially for Ministry of Sound. At the end of the year 2005, DJ Project were nominated among the five Romanian groups that were to participate in the contest for the MTV Europe Music Awards - Best Romanian Act trophy. , and also the English version of "Lumea ta" recorded especially for Ministry of Sound. In May 2007 the group receives, for the second time consecutive, the award for the best dance group at the MTV Romania Awards.
During March and April DJ Project took part in a national tour organized by UTV, and in May – June in the national tour namedâ€Mereu aproapeâ€.
At the end of June they release the sixth album in their career (this without taking into consideration that the precedent album was released in two editions, as a simple and then double CD), namedâ€Doua anotimpuriâ€.
