Why horse back-riding is the toughest sport!
1. You can't just drag along a bat and ball, you have to bring a horse, tack, etc.
2. You have to be thinking about a million things all at once.
3. You have to make everything look easy, even though it's extremely hard sometimes.
4. You have to deal with the horse's mood and attitude.
5. It's not just you and a team, it's you and your horse, which you have to feed and take care of.
6. You work so hard for shows and your horse may be sick or act up on that day.
7. You don't just buy a uniform and that's it, you have to buy tack, the horse, show clothes, etc.
8. You have to be ready for the worst, your horse spooking, bucking, etc.
9. When you are in the show arena there is plenty of other horses in there too, which you have to stay away from to avoid horse fights.
10.A horse has a mind of it's own, unlike a ball.
11. It's not exactly east to make a 1,500 pound animal do something it doesn't want to, and when you get a horse mad, you have to use all your strength to control your horse.
12. You need to be extremely strong to control your horse with your calves, thighs, arms, back, and shoulders.
13. You don't pull a muscle once every 4 months or so like most sports, but you pull a muscle at least once a week.
14. Horseback riding is no pony ride as many people think its just sitting on a horse, you actually need to have alot of skill if you are going to succeed. If you are one of the ones that doesn't think horseback riding is a sport, don't talk unless you have experienced it and understand that no one would say horseback riding is easy if they are a rider themselves. Horseback riding is 100 times harder than basketball, softball/baseball, volleyball, soccer, and every other common sport that people make a huge freaking deal out of. If you don't think horseback riding is a sport in the first place, THEN WHY iS iT iN THE OLYMPiCS???
