About Me

.. width="425" height="350" ..Delve deep into the desolate wastelands of Birmingham, Alabama, and perhaps you will find a glimmer of something worthwhile; perhaps something METAL? And of course you will because you have probably just uncovered some coal and iron ore And as far as music goes, I guess you might find a few decent local bands like Catchfire or Haste, too. But dammit if those are the only things Metal in the Ham! So who are we? We Shutins have had somewhat humble beginnings. What at first started as a concept band (the concept of wanting an excuse to get wasted and make noise with your buddies) slowly progressed into punk/rock, and then has finally culminated into the Metal extravaganza that we are today. Our latest album, The 7th Seal, has marked our ultimate transcendence into the realm of Metal-dom. The original backbone of the band is still mostly intact from our beginnings (2000), and consists of Stevie (vocals), Matt (bass), and Joe (guitar). We passed though a few different drummers and guitarists until culminating with our most metal, final lineup of Brooks (lead guitar) and Kevin (double-pumping kick drums) and the rest of the original crew. Our touring consists of only neighboring states (AL, MS, and GA) and mostly local gigs, but just about everywhere weve played has given us the Horns and invited us back. But a lack of shows is due only to a lack of booking knowledge. Yet through persistence, we shall prevail! Anyway, we recorded our most recent album, The 7th Seal, early in 2005 and it has been received by friend and foes alike! Our newest songs exemplify our progression in the Metal arts, and we have received much acclaim locally for our work. Thus, weve decided to put out some real effort and see if anybody else thinks weve got a shot at glory. Thanks, The Shutins
