Surfacing from Palatine, IL, A Better Place To Be exploded onto the Chicago-land music scene showcasing vocal-driven rock that features melodic guitars and dueling voices.In February 2008, ABP launched themselves onto the airwaves earning radio play on Chicago’s WXRT, 93.1 fm. WXRT DJ Richard Milne selected A Better Place To Be as the feature band for the Local Anesthetic Capsule during the week of February 11. The Local Anesthetic Capsule highlights an up-and-coming band that is making a name for themselves in the Chicago music scene.While the name A Better Place To Be has only been on the local circuit for a short time, the group has made building a following their top priority. During weekly open mics, ABP averages 20-25 fans a showing.The core band members of Kris Frye, Joe Latuszek and Tony Veschuroff have been playing together since early 2002. They established their musical roots in the indie rock band More Ways Than One, playing nearly twenty-five shows in Chicago-land while recording two EPs with producer Craig Baker at Digital Audio Designs.In 2008, the trio of musicians produced A Better Place To Be’s first EP. The five song demo was recorded with the help of producer Dave Banks at Energy Command Studios in Arlington Heights, IL.
