About Me

I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure -- that is all that agnosticism means.
Life has had it ups and downs lately, luckily more UPS then anybody should bitch about. Life is great! I have been hanging out with this awesome girl that I have me threw some very close friends of mine. She comes from the rock'n state of Ohio.
Finally the 19th Annual Beaufort Music Festival is over with. But guess what. Taking a little break and then it will be time to think about the big 20th. Lots of big plans floating in our heads. This years event was pretty fun. Every one of these I go to I feel like I'm growing more musically because of the different styles of bands that come each year. Hell I'm thinking of learning the ukilalie now if I can find one on the cheap. I will have some pictures from this years festival posted on the festivals myspace page soon.
News on the banjo that was my Great Grandfathers 55 Silver Tone, It has seen its day. I was told the reason I'm having problems learning on it is the strings will not stay in tune. I played a new one at Sam Ash Music in Raleigh with chords I could remember and it was easy and sounded great. I ended up buying an acoustic bass that day. (Well now my friend Anna has loned me her Banjo that stays in tune. We will see where this goes. I'm pretty confadent that I will be able to play it some what well pretty soon. Hopefully as well as Scott Avett.)
I'm currently starting to be able to play some songs on the guitar and sing them at the same time. Don't ask me to do it. I suck at it.. My coordination is way off some of the times, and I'm still a little shy.
I was finally able to see NOFX live last summer at the Warp Tour. It was a human meet grinder standing at the front of the stage. They started off there set with "The Decline" 18 long mins, I love that song. Oh yeah, Helmet was there they kick so much ass that it is hard to describe with out saying kicked ass 1000 times. I have the White Strips, Elvis Costello and some other bands on my summer consert list. Let me know if you want to go. I'm ready for a road trip.
I finally headed down to Savannah GA. I love to go hang out in that city. This city can be wild. Check out the pictures from my trip.
Looks like my next trip will be to Batcave NC to see the Mountains. Can't wait!
On the political front I have become the 3rd vice chair of the Carteret County Democratic Party. Even though I'm fiscally conservative deep down I'm liberal activist. There are a ton of people in this State and Nation that are at risk of having their civil rights to do as they want taken away from them by fundamentalist that live in our own country. (You all know what group I'm talking about, they just lost their leader Jerry Farwell. What a disgrace to the Christian Religion. What a wacko.)
I'm also working on some public awareness for the environment. Please, if you give two shits about tomorrow "the best day of your life" then get involved with your local political party (Democratic Party if you know what I mean) and lets start to make better things happen.
Check out my web work that I have been working on. More sites to come in the next week. Being a technology consultant has had me busy and the sites are coming out one at a time. I have a waiting list. I love working for my self, best move I could of ever made. Currently at my limit on the Pro-Bono work, but do ask, if I think it is for a good cause I'm willing to not sleep.

Music:

Not sure where it came from but I really enjoy Bluegrass. Strange eh? Still love the Punk Rock. There is so much great music out there to mention. Resent listening rants include:

Flogging Molly, The Avett Brothers, Chatham County Line, Rancid, Guta, Violent Femmes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Bob Dylan, The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Beck, NOFX, Ween, and Taj Mahal (Slayers Live Album is the Best live Album Ever).

I feel Skitso when I put my 17gigs of MP3's on random. I love music, what else can I say.

Hung out with most of the guys from Delaware Rag during the Music Festival. What a great group of people. Check there Myspace page out there in my top 8. Killer Bluegrass.

I have had a great summer of live shows, I have seen this summer alone: NOFX, Helmet, Joan Jet, Black Crowes, Drive By Truckers, Donna the Buffalo, Maxwell Mosher (squirl nut zippers), The Presidents of the USA

"Icky Thump" by the White Stripes. June 19. I have heard some tracks. This is the hardest album they have ever done.

Movies:

I tend to like the indie films.

Last film I went to the movies to watch was "Grind House." Q. Tarentino and Robert Rodriguz are some creative mother fuckers. I suggest that you all watch this one.

If you get a chance look up "Funky Monks" it is the makeing of the best album ever.... Blood Sugar Sex Magic

Television:

The Trailer Park Boys, Download them with what ever program you use. You will be glad you did. Other then that, TV sucks. Daily Show, Weather Channel and Headline News are all you will find me watching most of the time.

Books:

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams. Changed my view on life and everything 42.Just finished Reading "E-Man" By Al Sheppard. I scanned the old Newspaper clippings and enhanced them the best I could for the center photo's and the cover design. So I'm plugging this book. New York Cop Writer.com

Now I'm back to reading Science Journals and Mags, and what ever kind of smutt I can get my hands on.

Heroes:

My Pops and Jimmy Carter
