It was a hot and sticky day when I went over to Jim's studio
My guitar was protesting by refusing to tune properly
I was also hot and sticky
But wasn't up for protesting
I'd only booked the day with Jim
His time swapped for my time spent laying out the artwork on his CDs
It was a case of getting a few tracks down then going away for critical appraisal
My technique was dodgy
I could hear my little finger clipping the scratch plate constantly
Should have spent a bit more time getting the sound the way I wanted
There was not enough resonance on the bottom end of things
Some richness was lost
So I went back for a second session to re-record some tracks
All tracks feature me playing my Epiphone FT165 12 string acoustic with standard tuning (flat)
Run directly through a fishman clipon preamp to Jim's studio equipment
Everything was recorded on a one take will do basis
Overall I'm happy with the CD
I like the compositions
Even if they're not mainstream music
My guitar has been my best friend on occasions
Certainly my most constant source of escape
Therapy
It's nice for me to have the opportunity to share some
