Thinking about change....sounds like a challenge, right?

About Me

I am originally from K-town, lived here my whole life and even though I have thought about moving a bigger city, this place grows on you. My family and friends live here, it is the center of the football universe, well, the SEC, and I'm used to its charm and demeanor. I am a graduate of UT, and currently working for BESCO, an electrical contractor. I had a 3 year stint with Walgreens before making a drastic career move, but I get more out of this field than retail. I am usually quiet at first, but once I get comfortable, there's no shuttin' me up!! haha I consider myself to be a complex, intelligent person, but I can be as basic as the next person. I strive to improve myself each day, even though I might hit one of life's "potholes" for time to time. We all do.

My Interests

HUGE FAN OF THE TENNESSEE VOLS!!! What a year our basketball team has had. Let's keep in up through March! I also enjoy football, baseball, golf and NASCAR. Love the outdoors, hanging out with friends, playing pool, having drinks, listening to local bands (the best I ever got to see was The Throwbacks, an 80's coverband, who unfortunately played their last show New Year's Eve, 2006 at the Preservation Pub), going to the mountains, tubing, camping, looking at the stars, and the list goes on and on.

I'd like to meet:

GOD. I think it would be interesting, sorta like the show, "Inside the Actors Studio" with James Lipton. I would be the one with the pile of index cards, just me and GOD, having a quiet conversation about life, science, whatever comes to mind. That would be pretty cool. ;) Anyway, in terms of ACTUAL people, I don't have a preference who I'd like to meet. I meet people everyday, most whom I probably won't hardly talk to, but now and then, you do make a new friend. I miss those of my friends who I haven't talked to in quite awhile. I'd like to "re-meet" them again and catch up on old times and whatnot. Never can have too many people in your life, until you forget their names and get them mixed up with other people...I hate that!

Music:

Let's see...there's so many bands it would take me forever to list them all, but here's a few:Aerosmith, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, John Mayer, possibly just about anything from the 80's, Chicago (pre 1980, with a few exceptions), The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Stephen C. Chapman, Santana, 3 Doors Down, Foo Fighters, The Killers, and many others that I can't name. I'm usually channel surfing on my SIRIUS satellite radio and just happen to come across some band that I've never heard of. Other music genres include: standards (30' and 40's big band), classical, bluegrass, electronica, r&b, and opera....ah, just kidding, can't stand it and don't know any of the words.

Movies:

I just love movies period. Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, Historical, you name it, i'll probably watch it. A few of my all-time favorites are the Star Wars movies, anything by Speilberg or Tim Burton. The latest one I saw was Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe. Very good and worth watching, and also based on a true story. One of the best movies of 2007 has been Across the Universe, which the story revolves around The Beatles music. A must see! Of course, I could list random titles, but I would be leaving something out.

Television:

since I haven't really watched much TV in the last while, some shows/channels are:Friends, Frazier, Everybody Loves Raymond, Drew Carey Show, The Daily Show, SNL, Mad TV, ER, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order...channels include: Comedy Central, History Channel, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Food Network (gotta love Emeril!!), E!, CNN, and off course ESPN!

Books:

well, I have read books in the past, but everytime I start one, I get sidetracked and forget about it until I do find it and forget where I stopped reading, and then I have to start ALLLLL over again. But anyway, I enjoy fiction like stephen king, but also get into the historical non-fiction books. Believe me, I try to read damnit!!

Heroes:

There are so many heroes I could talk about, even Superman. Honestly, the heroes in my life would be the people who have been an influence, whether it's family, friends , or aquaintances. Heroes don't have to save lives or solve the world's problems, but just to be able to give guidance and to assure that things will be OK. I have so much to be thankful for and yes, I do take it for granted, but I think it's so much better to recognize who has been such an influence and how they have shaped your life. These people are the heroes.

I just found out that husband of one of my friends passed away last night in his sleep. He was only 41. Just about a month ago, the husband and wife of family friends passed unexpectedly. It really...
