Oliver

Oliver is a bass player and student. He is bilingual having a German mother and an Italian father. He studied double-bass at the "Liceo Musicale Vincenzo Bellini" for 4 years. While studying classical music he bought his first electric bass (Fender Jazz Bass) and began playing hard rock stuff. At the age of 17 he quit the conservatory and later on, joined the band Red Corner where he played Red Hot Chili Peppers covers. During this period he discovered heavy metal and enjoyed improving his playing skills covering songs from Iron Maiden and other bands. After three years in Red Corner he joined the power-metal act Berserker where he played for some years. Now he plays for the death-metal act Devouring Sorrow writing own songs and covering bands like Death, Carcass, dark Tranquillity and Cannibal Corpse. His gear are a modified six-string Ibanez Soundgear, a Fender Jazz Bass, a Laney B3 amplifier and an Ashdown MAG 300 EvoII head. Over the years he took a degree in Foreign Languages at the Università Degli Studi of Catania. He is still studying at university and improving his playing skills playing songs from many different artists and styles. Proud of being half German, he likes drinking beer and liquors and collect empty beer bottles from all over the world. He owns 300 different bottles so far...
