About Me

I tried to get away from music...at one time after being a professional musician in top bands in New Zealand & Australia for 10 years I left the music scene for 25 years...but music called me back. So here I am writing music....& loving it again. It's in the blood so what can we do?

My Interests

Music:

Influences: My early teenage years were influenced by the great Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, MJQ, Paul Desmond, Art Pepper, Dave Brubeck, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis...& of course my favourite composer of all...Antonio Carlos Jobim & the beautiful music of Brazil.
Sounds Like: I alway try to create my own sound...although I do have many influences going way back from jazz to bossa nova, funk, soul, classics, gospel, country...latin jazz & rock...to the music of Arthur Lee of LOVE, Art Pepper, Return To Forever, PJ Proby, Bob Dylan, The Walker Bros, The Commodores, Earth Wind & Fire, Jimi Hendrix to ambient esoteric music. There's great music in every genre & all have influenced my song writing one way or other.

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break." - from an old Chinese legend
