Below are some samples of my most recent photography.
I’m the loving artist/photographer who is always laughing and enjoying life. I love children, and specialize in on-location portraiture for newborns, toddlers, children and their families.
Since the age of three my mother recognized and fostered my love for art. What began as crayons and messy finger paints transformed into colored pencils, oil paints, ceramics, and finally photography.
While the talent for other mediums were quickly found, I did not discover my natural ability in photography until I was 22. Upon recognizing this hidden talent in 1998, I choose to go back to school to be formally trained in the medium. In 2001 I graduated with my degree in photography, forever altering my future.
During this time coworkers began asking me to take pictures of their beautiful children, becoming the resident family photographer in the company. Word of mouth began to grow amongst these early clients and I quickly discovered how much I truly enjoy working with kids. I've had the privilege of watching children grow from birth for the past 7 years now, photographing the beautiful stages of their young lives as they fly by.
In 2005 I moved from Modesto to Fresno to continue my education as an artist. It was at this time that I had the privledge to meet my now beloved husband, Cellas. This past spring I graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Fresno with my Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. The department of Art and Design at Fresno State gave me the highest honors a graduating student can receive, nominating me to be their Deans Medalist.
Today I consider myself blessed to have found my calling, uniting my talent as an artist, my passion for photography and my love for children. With the support of my husband, and the confidence from my years of education, I have the honor to be able to take on my photography full time, specializing in what I love best, artistic childhood portraiture.
I realize with such blessings I must find a way to pass on my gratitude. My husband and I, recognizing the vital role education plays in young lives, have dedicated ourselves to the education of children around the world. Using the funds raised through my photography, I have donated hundreds of dollars, time, talent, and artwork to organizations dedicated to helping children; like The Fresno Covenant Foundation, Scholarship Uganda, and Fresno Families. We also took on the long term commitment to fully sponsor six children in Cameroon (West Africa), making sure each student completes their education through graduating from University, the youngest of them being 8 years old.
It is with great honor that I continue to be invited into the homes and lives of my young clients, forming friendships, and capturing the beauty and innocence of their childhood.
Rumi says it best, "Let the beauty we love, be what we do."
