Lisa Marie! I was raised in Panama City (and without the natural ebb & flow of its waters and wind, life is just not quite right). New Orleans is my other home, where I attended Tulane University for medical studies and eventually landed in New York combining all of my passions into the study of the body. As Director of Research at the New York Body Archive and assistant at Sacred Body Art Emporium, I have worked on a variety of amazing projects including museum and gallery exhibits and documentaries, while educating many on the myriad ways to play with the body. Since returning to PC, I have been focusing my energy towards building the counter culture community through my involvement with a number of galleries, my ArtWorks projects (such as Gumbo Ya-Ya) and Panama City Roller Derby, while helping my family's sign business run more smoothly and writing for Skin&Ink and Blood&Thunder magazines. I love to cook and am especially proud of my award winning cookies. After a long hiatus, I'm creating again. My mixed media work currently focuses on women's roles and political statements. (The sprinkles in the background are from one of my larger pieces, Yummy! You can see it in my pics.) Now exploring digital photography, I find texture is what draws me in. THIS WEEK I MADE: It through yet another Birthday Party for a friend (Jonan the Barbarian!), slow but steady progress, plans to go to NOLA (yes, again)/Savannah/Biloxi/Manhattan/Orlando, a connection with a woman for whom I have tremendous admiration - former POW Shoshana Johnson, a wonderfully tender & moist gigantic ten pound pork loin, and a special surprise for someone-perhaps the ugliest camel pinata ever!!! PLEASE SUPPORT: local businesses like Blender Clothing www.blenderclothing.com, Marco's Pizza, PCRD (that's Roller Derby for those not in the know...pcrollerderby.com) and check out www.needlesandsins.com, & Blood&Thunder Magazine!
